AP holder question

Wait really? I was with four non passholders this last week and waited in the regular tapstile lines with them to be polite. I could have brought them with me?! Good to know.

(I wouldn't bring four with me, there was two of us with and four without, so we'd each have brought two)

Same here, had no idea! Passholder lines were significantly shorter in the morning about a month ago. I have one but DS does not. I pointed out the short line to him, teasing him that I was going to go through it while he waited. Had no idea that he could've come with me!

Thank you all for you're answers and help. I will make sure I have my card with me and that I go through first before my family. I did ask this in a Facebook group I am in and was sorta of surprised that a couple of people were complaining that I would take my family through the line with me. It was only a husband and a wife that said anything. The wife commented why did their always have to be an exception and then the husband commented a few minutes later why even have an AP line if non ap holders were going to go through it. I remembered when the line first opened that did say your family could go through with you (or am I remembering wrong) do people really have a problem with this? I figure if Disney allows it it is ok for my family to go through with me.

These people are super grumpy. I seriously doubt most people have a problem with this, or even realize there is a different line or that some people in it may be in a party with passholders. Some people just need to find offense in things.

For those saying the passholder should enter first, I am pretty sure that it doesn't make a difference. The tapstyle is not set to only allow passholders and, even if it were, how would it know that three people entering consecutively are int he same group. I am pretty sure that the only "gatekeeper" of the passholder line is a cast member asking for sliders or cards.

I got my first AP in May of this year and I was so excited about it I practically skipped through the tapstile without realizing my mom didn't have an AP. The CMs did always let her through without any issue saying she was my "guest of honor," but I always had to go first and show my card. I actually told her she had to go through the other line because I wasn't sure if it would recognize her non-AP ticket but the CMs always said it was ok - I never asked for them to let her through (sorry mom..). I think I had success because she was just one person but I wonder if the group was larger, would they do it? I guess it's definitely one of those CM-by-CM basis things. I don't mind waiting in an AP line even if longer, just because it's so exciting for me!

Also, you can count on passholders to know how to tap their way into the park, so even if the line is long, it moves a lot faster than regular line.

This was my thought too. Although those of us that are experienced still face challenges tapping in occasionally but I would be willing to wager much less then the large groups of first timers.
