What exactly do you get with the basic AP you get as a gift?

You can park hop with the APs. You are also eligible for AP rates on rooms in the WDW resorts (if they are available) and the Disney Dining Experience card which costs $65 and gives you a 20% discount in many WDW and DTD restaurants - including alcohol. There are many more benefits that come with the AP - check out the Disney website to see all of them. I don't have any idea how much it is to upgrade to the deluxe AP.

Found this on the disney site.
Its $579 for a premium pass which includes all the water parks and disney quest and the normal one which i think is the one you get with the wedding is $448 so it would be $131 to upgrade it, about £67 in todays exchange rate. Thats not bad really when you think thats for a year! We have just got 14 day ultimate passes for £184 each!
