We are planning on going for 7 days in the spring and booking a bounce back in the fall before our son turns 3. The BB would probably be no shorter than 4 days. Looking at 2014 pricing, it looks as though it would be over $200 cheaper to buy AP's instead of both tickets separately (we always get park hoppers). Are AP's exclusive to FL residents? Is this a good deal if we're for sure booking a BB? When does the activation occur (can I buy during 2014 prices for 2015 use - say around November / December since both trips will occur before then?) We won't be in our own car so the parking benefits don't apply to us, but are there any other benefits? Still get magic bands? TIA!

Fla resident passes are for FLA Residents only.
Anyone can buy an Annual Pass.

If you are looking at Annual Pass for $675.21 (including tax) that is the right pass. If it's $516.53 (with tax) then it's the FL only one.

The basic difference between the FL and APs are the Fla ones you can buy on an installment plan, and it doesn't include parking (because who in Fla would drive to the parks? :)

Yes, you can buy the APs now and they will not be activated until you go to the park to use them; it's actually a nice way to spread out the cost if you wanted to buy one now andthe second in a couple of months, or whatever...

Edited to add: you will likely be able to snag room discounts, too. And yes, you'll get Magicbands.

Many non-Florida residents from all over the US (and the world) purchase WDW APs.

APs have quite a few benefits.

HERE is a link to the extra benefits you get with an AP.

HERE is an older thread discussing AP Benefits.

And, :welcome: to posting on the DISboards, DisneyStorm!

Just purchased 2 APs as we have 3 park days over Labor Day and are planning a 10 day trip next summer. Better deal and don't have to fret about whether to upgrade to PH or not!

Thanks for all the quick and thorough responses! I had a couple more that maybe someone can answer. If I buy an AP now to activate later, when do the room discounts apply? After it's activated or can I access discounts for the trip it'll be activated on? Also, if we book our BB trip for DS's birthday - would he be classified as a 2y for the trip if we get there before he turns 3 as usual?

2- would he be classified as a 2y for the trip if we get there before he turns 3 as usual?

1- You do not have to "own" an AP to get the AP room rates.
You just need to get the AP after you arrive at WDW for that trip.

2- Whatever age the child is on check-in day (or first park entry day) is the age that "holds"
for the entire trip.

Thanks! I had the first trip totally planned out - just waiting on 2015 release- and I threw myself this wrench. Now trying to make sense of it all.
