Hi

Where in Downtown Disney can you purches an activated AP before checking in at your resort?

Thanks

Uncle Albert

There's a Guest Services Office where you can purchase these tickets. When you drive into the DTD parking area, park all the way down to your right. The office is near some bathrooms and, if memory serves correct, the Eurospain store. It's in the shopping area though and is pretty well marked. Hope this helps! :sunny:

by parking lot a, to the right off the main "street" of shops in a little dead end alley way thing between summer sand and once upon a toy( think Euro spain was around there someplace also) back in the far right corner of the alley way. not easy to find at night! but you can check on a map there if you can't find it

correct me if i'm wrong - but i don't think you need an activated AP on check in.

DH had bought my PAP at The Disney Store (locally) and we didn't activate them until AFTER check in.

stinkerbelle is correct. We bought a voucher for a Childs AP at our local Disney Store and did not activate it until the day after we checked in. Actually, the Poly never even asked to see the AP. I would not go out of my way just to get an activated AP before chech-in.

Hey

Thanks for the info. I think we will still buy the passes before we get there because of our luck. However, I would like to buy the vouchers from our disney store. I think it might save us about 30 or 45 minutes. How sure are you about using an unactivated pass to check in. Has anyone had to show an activated pass to check-in?

The official, written policy is that in order to get the Annual Pass Holder rate, you must present an activated Annual Pass in order to check in.

I've heard stories that run the gamut about people not needing to show anything, some having to show a voucher, some having to show the activated pass. I've also heard that if it is required, they will allow you to check in, activate and stop back at the front desk to show the activated AP.

I too am using an annual pass, and will have a voucher. To save any embarrasment, or sticker shock, I'll just make a quick stop at Downtown Disney and activate the thing before I check in. It's not worth it to me to have to worry about whether or not they'll ask to see it.

I have never heard of anyone that was given a hard time at check-in for not having an activated AP. A voucher should be and has always been good enough. We had the same concerns when we first used the AP but were assured by numerious people on these Boards that there would not be a problem. They were right. Why waste your valuable time for no reason?

my husband did have to show our validated passes at Pop Cen.at check in. we had gone to DTD before check in though so do not know what would have happened if they were not activated ( which took all of maybe 10 mins). we had gone to vero beach and just needed the voucher there but that may have been because it was noted on our ressie we would not be able to validate it till we got to wdw after vero ( had a long drawn out problem with many calls to VERo and guest services about did we or did we not need to get the passes validated before check in at vero which would have meant an additional stop at WDW before hand and no one, including guests services seemed to know for sure so finally they just noted on the ressie that we had the voucher but not validated and that would be ok)

I had no problem showing an activated AP when I went in November ,as a matter of fact I wasn't even asked to show my AP.
I activated it the day after check-in. If you purchase an AP from the disney store you also save a few dollars.
