People are rewarded for having an Annual Pass or living in Florida... why can't us with a Disney Visa get something too?

i find it hard to believe most Disney resorts would be sold out the week of May 14-21

They wouldn't have to be sold out in order for Disney to not offer discounts - bookings just need to be high enough that they figure they can sell most of the rest at rack, or offer more codes later on if necessary to fill up the resorts.

Oops, meant to add...it seems pretty obvious (to me) that WDW resorts are booking much faster this year than last - a look at last year's discounts v. this year tells that story. That being the case, my guess would be that Disney figured they could sell out the rest or close to sell out by offering rates to AP/FL residents first, and not need to offer general codes at this time.

I think that lots of people haven't begun to plan their summer vacations yet. I started planning my first Disney trip (DL in '03) in early January for early March...seemed plenty early at the time (before I was an obsessed planner). I even got a great rate code for the Disneyland Hotel from Mousesavers.

I'm sure the folks at Disney have lots of stats on when rooms are booked and when they need to release codes and for how many rooms.

I still find it hard to believe that disney would be sold out at full capacity during the month of May

I doubt they are sold out during the month of May, but even if they aren't, that doesn't mean that they need to add general codes to bring up occupancy. They most likely want to see what the response to the AP/FL resident codes are, and if they still have vacancies, perhaps they'll add general codes.

DIsney Visa rates would probably require a contribution from BankOne who may not want to contribute.

Codes work like stand by flights. The more vacant rooms - the more discounts.

I have booked MANY clients for the week of the 14th -21st and I was already having problems getting the resort of their choice BEFORE any discounts were released.

MYW packages, combined with DL's 50th birthday celebration has left little room for discounts for the entire month of May. YES, Disney has been THAT busy since the release of the MYW packages.

Personally, I'm shocked that they even released these codes. Glad, but shocked.
