I'll be at WDW from Oct 21-26 '06. I just got my new AP two weeks ago and it expires on 11/29/06. But, I'm planning a trip from Dec 7-Dec 10, '06. Is this going to be an issue when I have to book BRP? I'll have renewed my AP but will be booking my room asap with the 'old' AP. Will I have any problem booking this way?? Also, what kind of rates did you guys get at the values and moderates for early Dec this year?? Trying to decide which resort to book. Thanks!

BRP rates are only out for stays through April 13, 2006 so you cannot book/check rates for anything beyond that date.

As to the AP expiration issue, I will be in this same situation when they finally allow us to book our May '06 trip. DH has an AP and it expires in February so we will be making the reservation under his current AP. When we check in in May, I expect they'll ask to see his AP, by which time he will have purchased a new one.

Yep, I knew they are only booking into mid-April, but I had this awful thought that when I did try to book my Dec trip, they would say..."Oh, but your AP expires the week before you arrive!" I imagine that I'll just have to show them the new AP that will be activated on that particular trip.

I think it would be unreasonable for Disney to expect people to renew their APs or purchase vouchers months before their existing APs expire in order to book a BRP room. Although, given how long it can take for BRP rates to be posted for upcoming trips, I think our AP may actually expire before we're even able to book our next trip. I'm just hoping not to fall into a black hole like the folks traveling in early October this year where BRP rates were announced for their trip dates, but it was past the BRP booking window so they couldn't actually book at those rates.

Since I'm looking to book something for May with an AP expiring in Feb, I'm in the same situation and will be attempting to do this before you do so I'll let you know if I run into any problems, assuming of course they actually release some BRP rates for my travel dates!

Hey, Diane! Don't worry - it doesn't matter when your AP expires - it'll let you book the trip - just *reminds* you that you'll need a "valid AP" at check-in!

Glad to see you enjoyed your solo trip! It's nice to go without the family on occasion, isn't it?!!!!! :teeth:

Hi, Our AP rate per night for POR value season late Nov/early Dec 2005 was
104.81 (which is 75.67 plus tax).

Hi Laura!!! Yes, it was indeed a great trip. So great that I'm going back again next Dec solo!!! Considering I will have just been back about a month, after celebrating Kate's 13th b-day, going solo again in early Dec shouldn't be a huge issue for the family!!!

And thanks tinkerbellmagic for the info on rates. Here's hoping I can get the same kind of rate next Dec...that would be so perfect!!!

goofy4tink, did you renew your AP or buy a new one? Sounds like your not going till OCT 2006. You are losing a lot of months if it's not a voucher.
For the cost of renewing, wouldn't it be better to just buy new and get a voucher to activate on your next trip?

You do know that you can always book the Best Rate over the phone everyday between 2pm and 5pm right? The Agent will not ask for your Pass number and has no way of checking to see when it expires. It is expected that you have a valid one when you check in. Disney works on the honor system. :earsboy:
