AP exchange certificate - can you use as verification when checking in to resort?

Hi All! Please pardon me if these questions have been asked before - I did do a search, but couldn't find the exact answers to my questions.

All of these questions are with regards to the WDW Annual Pass. I appreciate all of your feedback tremendously!

1. Does WDW only allow a certain number of rooms to get the AP room-only discount rates? That is, when enough rooms have been booked using the AP discount code no more rooms are available using that code????

2. If you get a room with an AP discount rate I know that you are expected to produce your Annual Pass at check-in to verify eligibility. However, what if all you have is your AP exchange certificate because you haven't exchanged it yet for the real AP? Will they accept the certificate in lieu of the AP until you're able to go to your first park and exchange it? I plan to purchase a Premium Annaul Pass online, however the website says it will send me an "exchange" certificate in the mail and that I can exchange it for an AP at one of the WDW theme parks. My plan, of course, is to check into my resort first, then go to one of the parks.

3. Can Annual Passholders take advantage of E-nights? Or is it just multi-day pass holders (e.g. Magic Your Way ticket holders).

I hope I posted these questions to the right board. It's been a long time since I posted so I'm a bit rusty. Our last trip to WDW was in 1999 so I have a lot of catching up to do with research etc.

Thanks much everybody!

Cheers,
Tracey

Hi Tracey! I'm getting a PAP the same way you are! Here's what I've been told (someone else please verify!):
1.You can book up to 3 rooms at 1 time per AP.
2. Haven't a clue. Great question though! I'm curious about this one too!
3. The Extra Magic hours are for resort guests (at least that's what all the literature stays), not just people with MYW tickets. :)

Can someone confirm for me?

Just show your certificate. Back from Easter week and was not asked at check.

No more e-night now extra hours am/pm and you must be at on site resort.
Look at for parks and hours when you check in.

Hi all - thanks for your responses - much appreciated.

I don't think I was very clear in my question #1 above. Basically, does WDW reservations only allow a certain block or number of rooms eligible for AP discounts? I only want to book 1 room with an AP discount, but my question is whether there is only a certain number of rooms that Disney allocates for the discount. For instance, are there only 100 rooms available for use with the AP discount or is it pretty much unlimited in that if you have the AP you're pretty much guaranteed the ability to use the AP discount if you're going during the dates when the AP discount is offered.

Also, are e-nights just currently not happening or have they been cancelled all-together? I'll be staying on site in a Disney resort and last time we went in November 1999 (I know a LONG time ago) there were e-nights available. Is there anything such as e-nights now?

Thanks again for all your help - this site rules!

Cheerio,

There is a limited number of AP rooms available. Some resorts may not even have any available for a given time and quite often they don't have them in every room category.

The manager of each resort looks at his rate of occupancy for the period and determines if and how many AP rate rooms will be offered. This occupancy rate is revisted by each resort manager from time to time with he/she having the option to release more discounted rooms or even take some already blocked but not yet reserved rooms away from the discount pool. That's a big reason why you hear stories of people getting AP rates weeks after a certain resort had no more available.
