AP Discount ?

I am on the fence about purchasing an AP for our upcoming trip. I was wondering, historically are there discounts during PEAK times for the AP?

If I have an AP (to get room discount) and I want to purchase a "package" for the dining plan-- Do I still need to get the same amount of days as the rest of my family for park tickets?

I don't go a peak times so I cannot comment on the availibitly of AP discounted rooms.

I do however know that you can book a room with an AP discount and get dining without having to purchase park tickets. It is still a package so you have to pay the $200 deposit and balance at 45 days out.

If other members of your travel party need park tickets you would buy those separtely not as part of the AP with dining package.

I have never had a problem booking AP rates for many trips during "peak" seasons, such as mid July, Christmas (just prior to), Spring Break, etc.

And as PP mentioned, you do not need to purchase any park tickets when you book a passholder + dine package. There must be at least one adult AP holder booked on the reservation in order to use the AP rate and then book a ticketless package w/ the DDP. Then anyone else who needs a ticket can buy whichever one they need. HTH.

Don't buy an AP for the reason of wanting a room discount. It may or may not happen. That is just a perk, if it is offered; not a guaranteed room discount.
My thought is there are so many discounts available already. You may be able to get a discount w/o buying an AP.
If you want to be able to book an AP ticketless package, then that is different.
