Okay I just had to start this poll after reading what other felt about the AP discount. Although I feel Disney will never give in to us DVC members and provide us with a discount. BUT if we had a vote on the matter and we had to be reasonable how do you think it would come out.
I think a lifetime pass would we great even if the cost was pretty high. It could be an added benefit to new members. It would also be great if you could pay a little portion each month with your monthly payment, then when your membership is paid for you have free passes for the length of your ownership.
While I would LOVE a larger discount, I think that 10% is a reasonable amount to expect, especially as we are already offered that level of discount on other ticket media.
I think 10% to 15% would be a good figure. Consider that the MKC/DC card received 5% to 10%, but that DVC members probably spend more time and $$ in the parks than the average guest, since, on average, we tend to vacation at WDW more often or for longer periods than the average guest.
Hmmm, maybe 5% on the initial purchase and 15% on renewals would be good. If you let your pass lapse, then you'd lose your 15% discount and have to purchase at only a 5% discount, that may be a good incentive for us to keep our passes active.
Although I would love more, I think 10% is reasonable. I don't think Disney would give more than that. I'd also like to see them bring back the renewal vouchers that are not effective until your next trip (extra 10% off).
Ideally I would think that 20% would be great. However, I would be satisfied with 10-15%. Especially if the renewal discount were larger that an initial purchase.
We would buy an AP no matter what, because of the amount of time we spend at WDW, but of course a discount would be nice. For the poll, I chose 10%, because that's what I believe is reasonable to expect.
DVC members should at least get equal discounts to Florida residents
Our AP's expire ahead of our next trip and even though we plan to go back in March 05 as well, we are thinking of spending enough touring time at Sea World and USF/IOA that we will not get AP's this time around
Even though I'm now a Fla. Resident and am eligible for the Fla.Res. discount, I wasn't always (only the past 3yrs) and with the amount of $$ we all spend every year, I think Disney should definetly reward us! When you consider that many of us (esp. those who live out of state and pay airfare ) take 2 or more trips per year and spend such a great deal of $$ on all things Disney, I think at least 20% would be more than fair! JMHO
I really think that we should be offered the FL resident rates.
Otherwise, I think 10-15% would be reasonable. That is approx what Cast Members get on APs at Company D, so I doubt that any more than that would be offered.
I was just about to say what kathleena said, I really don't think they would give DVC more of a discount than employees. I think that 10% is a fair amount and I would be extremely happy with DVC if they offered that, if would show that they felt we were important.
As DVC members I think we all plan on spending at least one full week as year in WDW which we should be willing to pay for. But if we come back for additional weeks thruoghout the year, Disney is really cashing in on us. I think we should get a PAP for what a week long UPH would go for. I don't have the dollar figures at my fingertips - well, technically I do - but I think a PAP pass at UPH price is close to a 33% discount.
I agree that the Florida resident discount would be appropriate.
The current cost of an adult AP is $369 (plus tax).
The cost of a Florida resident adult AP (full year, not seasonal) is $299 (plus tax).
That's a discount of 19%.
Of course, for me, the Florida resident seasonal pass would be even better!
