AP discount question...

I am going back down to WDW in August and I finally decided to buy an AP . I know the AP rates for the rooms aren't out yet, but what is the approx. usual discount that an AP holder gets? I am trying to figure out my budget!

Depends on what type of resort you are interested in. In the past, I remember seeing the All Stars for around $60/night, Moderates for $90/night, and Deluxe at about 40% off (all depending on season).

You might want to know that of late there haven't been many AP discounts available. If the room discount is "making or breaking" your AP decision, you might take that into account.

Thank you all for your responses. And thanks Crisi for the heads up on the lack on recent discounts. I am definite on getting the AP, this will be my third trip this year, so it is definitely worth it for me. I just didn't know what to expect for room discounts, if there are any. I appreciate all of your responses!

Last year we got POFQ for $84. per night. Hope to see it again soon for this July.

This year the discount is a flat $$ amount off and not a percentage like last year. Also this year the discounts aren't as good as they were last year for the rooms.

Of course it is still better than no discount but its worth knowing that they aren't as great as last year - at least so far.
