Hi!
We would really like to go to WDW in October but wonder what are the chance's of getting an AP discount? I have November ressie's but can't get October and MNSSHP out of my mind! The difference in cost wouldn't be too bad if we got the discount...and I know no one can know for sure but what do you think..?
Is there a pretty good chance maybe??

I'm thinking of changing our reservation and risking it!

and they were released at the last possible second. I went in Oct, and called at 7 am the morning they were released, with no luck. I kept called after, with the hopes of a cancellation, but ended up with only a DC discount. That being said, we went to MNSSHP (for the 2nd time) and it was great! Towards the end of the party, we were able to go on POC and HM with hardly any wait. The weather is beautiful then, although it is still high 80's low 90's in the AM. I would think it would be a bit cooler in Nov.
Maybe the lack of discounts last year was due to the high bookings from the infamous Fairy Tale pkg, which I think is offered this year, but with a totally different pricing structure (not the same great discounts). Also, Oct is a big convention month, so certain groups hold blocks of rooms in some of the resorts. The MNSSHP does attract a lot of guests, so depending on when in Nov you were thinking of going, you might avoid some of those Oct crowds. Maybe you would be best checking the other costs for your trip in the two different time periods to see which would end of being less. If airfare and rental car is less during one period, that might offset the increase (if any) in the cost of the room. Hope you get to go to MNSSHP!

I had AP rate for two rooms for 4 nights Oct 29-Nov 2. At Sports but had alot of other places available when I called.
Its to early to tell what can or will happen....

We are due to head out Nov. 1st for two weeks. I'm also just worried about the Jersey week thingy, it would be really nice not to have to stress to much about planning. To beat the crowds we may have to plan really well. However if we didn't get a discount we would have to go offsite  and we arn't renting a car . I'm not sure if I'll change our dates or not, I'd love to do MNSSHP but I don't know if I could handle the stress of waiting for a discount! If we end up going in Nov. then maybe, just maybe, we can go next year ::yes:: . We are getting AP's so October would fit in really nicely then, and with no tix to buy any room price increase wouldn't be so bad :D.

We are going Oct 27th-Nov 6th what is this Jersey week Thingy?
We are DVCer's. When we were possibly needing to book 2 days at ASM one of the sites said last year that time the AP rate was $49.00.

This past Oct was harder to judge than the rest. With the FTP, it changed everything. Most resorts were booked very early. We got our CM rate a year earlier, but had friends trying to get into anything months before and couldn't get on property under any discounts, CM/AP (pretty bad when a CM has to stay at a holiday inn because there are no discounted rooms available). We even tried to upgrade our room and was told that POR was at 100%. I'm sure there were a few rooms available, but they went quickly. I guess it will all depends if another FTP is released again this summer. But October is very busy. The golf tournament is Oct. 21-24, food and wine is the whole month +. Then you've got the happy haunts ball the end of the month, MNSSHP throughout the month, and am sure there are many, many conventions that we are unaware of. Of course, you've got Jersey week the beginning of November, along with the Masters of the Festivals Nov. 12-14, and Super Soap weekend (probably the same weekend--unannounced yet). I personally would book a room you can afford and if you get a discount or can upgrade, then that would be icing on the cake. I have 3 rooms reserved at Pop at our CM discount and booked back in October 2003.

Thank you, what you say makes alot of sense. We will go in November unless something unforseen pops up making October the better deal. Right now the cost of airfare looks to be about the same, so the hotel price is the clincher really. Also I know we will have a blast, even if it's crowded, it's our first time after all ::yes:: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc ! I've gone over the question of going in October time and again, work it out, decide November is best. I really want to do this trip without spending any extra money needlessly, because in the end, what we are going to do is just amazing! I mean all the Disney parks, the Universal parks, staying onsite, eating a few nice dinners and even hopefully swimming with the dolphins at Discovery Cove!

We will take the room at the time we can afford, and have a blast :Pinkbounc ! Thanks again :D

Oh and crazy4claspooh, the Jersey weekend dates are Nov. 4, 5 and 6th I believe. That is when a teachers convention is in town, and a lot of familys also come to WDW because the kids have those days off.
