AP discount for DAH parties

I tried to find more information on this, hopefully I have better luck here. Currently AP holder will get $30 off the DAH party.. my question is, Does AP still need to be valid on the party date, or I can purchase the party tickets while AP is still valid but will be expired on the actual party date? For example, if my AP will expire on March 1st, can I purchase a DAH ticket for the end of March on February 28?

You just need the AP to purchase the ticket. Once you have the ticket, there is nothing to indicate it was purchased with a discount. And you will not be checked or made to show an AP when you go to the after hours event.

I have had an AP for several years. It expires in October but I am unsure if we will renew yet. We have a free dining bounceback trip in December. The tickets & hotel rates have gone up quite a bit since then. We won’t be making as many trips to WDW next year for a few reasons, so I’m leaning towards letting them expire, using the tickets with our package now & just buying a 5 day ticket when we go next year. However, we are going to after hours when we are there in December. I will definitely buy the tickets before my AP expires. So I’ll be doing exactly what you asked.

AP discount is $95. Regular price is $125 isn't it? You can buy it on the website with AP discount if you're signed in.

I have to call as my AP isn’t activated yet however it does show in MDE but not active. I will call the AP line. May get someone who knows what they are talking about. Thanks!

Yes definitely called back! I just checked the website. Definitely $95! Did you add your voucher to MDE? If so, you should get discount. But, you know... Disney IT. Good luck!

As long as you have the AP and it is linked to your MDE account they should be able to let you pay the discounted AP price for the DAH event. I had to be transferred to 2 different cast members to get a ticket specialist that took care of it. I will be activating my AP the day before the party, which I explained to the ticket specialist... she was very quick and accommodating and said "absolutely, no problem!" then had me pay over the phone.

The AP discount on MNSSHP and MVMCP tickets is $5. Could the cast member have been confused which event you were asking about?

If you have an AP linked, even if it's not active, I believe you should be able to choose "Products and Prices for Annual Passholders" at the top of the ticket page for the event. You may need to sign into your account twice to have this available.

I will try again, but have not been able to access the AP prices on MDE. I do have the AP linked to me on my account.
I don’t think the cast member was confused about what event as she said the night I was asking about was not the 25th of September but the 26th for DAH. She may have been confused on the discount for AP is more for DAH than for MNSSHP. If I cannot get the prices to come up on MDE, I will try calling again. I have seen others report having problems accessing discounts with their AP linked properly. It’s not just you, more likely a Disney IT issue.

Was never able to link effectively the AP, but was able to reach a cast member very quickly tonight! I was able to purchase my DAH tickets with the correct AP discount. Yay! Thanks all.

I was never able to see AP discounts for the life of my AP despite numerous attempts by IT to fix it. Current AP, from the moment I linked the voucher. So go figure.

When I went in May, I upgraded to an Annual Pass and I was able to get a refund for the difference between the regular After Hours ticket cost and the annual passholder cost. Worth checking!
