I am in the process of purchasing BCV points through The Timeshare Store  ; closing isn't until mid-June because the sellers had a trip planned. But we are also planning on being in Disneyland in late July; have a room-only ressie at Disneyland Hotel. I read that DVC owners get a discount on APs at Disneyland but can't find any amount; I believe the DVC discount on APs at WDW is $100 each, right? Does anyone know what it is at Disneyland? Do I get the APs through Member Services? Do you think that I will be activated in the system in time, if closing is June 15 and we aren't going to be in Disneyland until July 30? Thanks for your help.

Congratulations on your BCV purchase!
The DVC discount on Disneyland AP's is $20. As noted, it is only for the first purchase, it's not good for renewals. You need to show your blue DVC member's card in order to get the discount. If you have AAA, then you could get the $20 AP discount with that and not worry whether or not you you have your member card. However, there are member perks at DLR, too. So if you have your member card, pick up a Perks booklet at any of the DVC kiosks.

Have a great trip!

Thank you for the info! Until one actually is a member and has access to the member's web site, it's hard to find out what the perks are, so I appreciate the help.

I was at Disneyland last month and got an AP with the DVC discount. One nice thing about the Disneyland AP is there is a 10% discount at almost all food places (I think DVC gets the same discounts but some of the cashiers didn't know what to do with it so I just used the AP).

Actually, there is now a 10% discount at most restaurants for DVC members.

Depending on which AP you get, there is a 10-15% discount at pretty much all restaurants as well. PAP will get you 15% off food, plus 10% off most purchases over $10.

I used one of my vouchers from DVC when I joined for my PAP. If I had paid for the pass, I'd say I've saved possibly five times and maybe more what it would have cost... I've made something like six-seven trips here with it, and then with food discounts for me and for friends, yeah, it's worked well. It's almost expired and I will buy one next time to save my voucher for WDW. The PAP price through DVC makes a new pass the price of the renewal, so after it expires, I'll just wait until my next trip to buy the new pass.

If you are a AAA member, there is a also a $20 discount on Deluxe and Premium APs if you purchase them online (www.disneyland.com/westways). It is good for tickets purchased through the end of June. Even if you buy in advance, your AP year doesn't start until your first day at DL. Have a great trip. -- Suzanne
