AP-Dining question

We are planning a trip next summer and I am trying to get my budget going and realize I don't know how this will work>>>

We are renting DVC points from one of my husband's coworkers for $6.00 a point!!! :goodvibes It is cheaper than we though so we would like to stay 3 weeks. We are planning to get the 10 day MYW park hoppers and then upgrade to AP after we have gone through the turnstiles at least once. It is my understanding that this is the way to keep the discounted ticket price point instead fo the gate price. We will also be purchasing Water Park Passes (probably separately since we won't need D Quest or Golfing). We know that it works out cheaper for the TIW, but prefer to do the Dining Plan. It may sound crazy but we know that if it is paid for before we go we will order what we want instead of analyzing each meal and price.

My question is: Can we buy the dining, and upgrade to an AP while on DVC?

Our plan is to go in July next year and June the following year so we can really get the most out of the passes.

For DVC reservations, you don't need to purchase tickets to be on the dining plan. Your husband will just need to ask his coworker to add the dining plan at least so many days prior to checkin. Right now, Dining plan needs to be added to your entire stay. So, if you want the DDP for only part of your stay your husband's coworker will need to make multiple reservation. One other thing, at least through 2013, DVC reservations do not need to pay "peak season" pricing for the DDP. It's the same price year round.

Thank you! That's great!
So, we will need to have the DVC owner add the Dining before we arrive? We can't do it when we check in? My husband though we could do it upon arrival.

We would want it our entire stay, so no need for multiple reservations.

Must be added by owner thru DVC Member Services 48 hrs or more before arrival and paid for when you book (note DVC has 48 hr window, everyone else gets 72).
