We will be going to WDW for 14 days at Pop Century and needing 3 rooms. If I buy a AP deluxe, is it cheaper than a 9 day park hopper/waterpark including any discount on the hotel room?

9 day park hopper with water parks is $516.53. Platinum AP (the one that includes water parks) is $882.89 so no. Now if you normally buy the memory maker, you need to add that to the hopper, which would be $665.50. So no, buying an AP is not less. You can't factor in resort discounts because they are never guaranteed that they will be available or that rooms will be available in your desired resort or time frame or even that the discount would be less than the general discount if one is being offered. The AP without the water parks is $797.69 and that includes memory maker so you are coming close but still not breaking even. Now if you got a 10 day PH with water parks then another 4 day PH without water parks its less to get an AP.

Keep in mind there are 10-20% AP discounts out on merchandise and certain food locations for the 45th anniversary. Depending on your plans for dining and buying souvenirs, you may come closer to the break even point with these discounts. You can also check AP room rates without having an AP yet to see if anything is left for your dates. ***You must have a valid AP and photo ID upon check in to validate the special room rate.

Hi there, uccats97! How can you check AP room rates without having the AP? I am very interested in this. Thanks!

By phone. It's not the most convenient but it works. The cast memebers will quote you AP room rates if you tell them you are planning to purchase a pass. You can even book a room over the phone using the passholder discount as long as you know you MUST show your pass and ID at check in. If you don't purchase your pass prior to arriving at your resort, you'll actually have to go to Guest Relations and purchase and activate your pass before checking in.

Thanks so much! We ended up purchasing the AP anyhow. Pretty glad we did before this weekends price increase.

Make sure you carry your discount card and an ID with you if you want discounts. Most stores/restaurants will check. Just go to any ticket counter or guest services to get your card, must have ID with you. If you have already linked it on MDE you won't need to have anything else as far as proof, they will see you have it but you do have to activate it. I've never had to show mine when checking in if using the discount for the room, they know you have one if it's attached to MDE.
