I'm getting annual passes for the first time. I know this is probably going to be a dumb question, but does the pass holder wear the pass? if so, would it be ok for my husband or myself to wear it for our son? He is autistic and hates to wear any kind of necklace.

No, you do not have to wear the pass. You show it at the turnstile and then when you want a fastpass.

I think you're confused about what an AP looks like. It looks like a regular tyvec ticket with the exception that it says annual pass and the passholder's name on the back. It is entirely up to the individual how it's to be carried around. I never let my kids carry their APs as I'm too afraid that they'll lose them. I'm the family ticket holder.

I think that you're picturing lanyards that lots of people wear. These are used mainly to carry things like tickets, fast passes, GACs, money, room keys and pins for pin trading. A lanyard is in no way a requirement.

Hand him his ticket just before he goes through the turnstile and collect the ticket back from him once he's through. Until this past year, our DD didn't even carry her GAC; DH and I did. This year she wants to be the one to carry it so we let her since she's now carrying a purse and seems to be really good about keeping track of the purse (she's rather obessive compulsive about it, something that I encourage; gotta make those issues work for her sometimes).

If he's young and has a child's AP, he would not even have to touch it. An adult in your party can hold onto it for him. Children don't use the finger scan. If an adult with a disability is not able to do the finger scan, the CMs can advise you what to do.

As the other posters mentioned, after going thru the turnstiles, you generally will not need it again unless you are getting Fastpasses. We usually have one person - like my DH - hold onto all the passes and then he goes to get Fastpasses..

Oh thanks! yes I guess I was confused. I thought I remembered seeing people with annual passes on lanyards around their necks on a previous trip. I even seem to remember the lanyards imprinted with "annual passholder" on them.

My son is now 14 but functioning like a 6/7 year old. He also had a stroke and doesn't have the use of his right hand, so if they do make him do the fingerprint scan, hopefully they can use his left index finger.

He can use the finger of his choice - it just has to be the same finger each time. And if it us difficult for him to do because of disability, you can tell the CM that and they should not require him to do it.

You may not be confused- some people do wear their AP on lanyards around their necks, particularly if they are using them frequently to get Fastpasses. It's not required though, so anyone doing it has chosen to do it.
