AP and Dining Card Question

I am thinking about purchasing an AP this year, as I will be making a 1-week trip this summer (late August) and a 2-week trip next summer (early August). My question, if I order the AP now and get the voucher in the mail, can I then order the dining card using the voucher info? How do you coordinate the dining card dates with your AP dates? I am staying off-site (i know, I know) so faxing a letter to the hotel is not an option.

I used my voucher to order the DDE membership. They just ask for the numbers off the back of the voucher. We're going next week, so they sent me an e-mail letter that we can use for this trip. If you want to get both trips out of it, you can order it at the beginning of August, and use the e-mail for your first trip. Your membership would then be good til the end of Aug next year, so it would cover that second trip as well.

The only thing to consider is that Disney could conceivably stop selling memberships to AP holders again, and then you would be out of luck if you wait. I personally think it would be a bad move for Disney to do that, but you never know!

From what others had said when AP holders were able to order the DDE card, you should order it at the beginning of the month you are going and have them fax/email you a letter. The DDE card will be valid for 1 year from when you order it and so far most of the expiration dates are the end of the month you ordered it not the exact day/date you ordered it. Does that make sense to you?

Here is what I am doing...
I will be in WDW May 13-22. I am going to call on May 1 and order the DDE card using the numbers off my vouchers (which came yesterday in the mail) and have them fax me a letter to use. My card should be good from May 1, 2005 thru May 31, 2006. You really get a little bit more then a year. Some people that ordered in Jan have an expiration date of Feb 28, 2006.

I think you will be ok ordering it from home and not have to worry about them faxing to a hotel in WDW area. I will post again in May when I order mine and let you know how it goes.

Yes, I believe you can use the voucher info, but I I believe the Disney Dining Experience works on its own dates. Meaning you get a year from when you purchase it. I don't believe it coincides with your AP because you have to order it from an off-site vendor.

I am going to WDW in June but have already ordered my DDE card.

I really wanted to take advantage of it, since our restaurant bills are always so high on vacation. I felt the advantage of pushing out the expiration date, was not worth taking the chance of losing out in case WDW changes their criteria, or even modifies or cancels the program, so I ordered it early. I am always cautious, lol, but should still get at the very least two WDW trips out of the DDE.

I have a similar question... we are going to be leaving in less than three weeks and I have purchased AP's for this trip as it looked like I will be able to go again in less than a year.

Can I buy a DDE card at the parks or resort?

No, you can only get a DDE over the phone. Call next week and they will e-mail you a confirmation to use on your trip.

Just to let you know, DDE gave me 13 months on the card. I ordered it the 7th of Feb and DDE said that it would expire the last day of March 2006.

I can't answer the voucher question but it looks like you can from other answers.

DDE will send you an email that works, just present the email and ID and ypou are all set.
