Hi, :wave2: I have a question about adding the DDP to an AP reservation. I was thinking about doing a quick trip in Feb during AP rates. We're also going in September next fall, so I thought getting an AP would be smart. But, can I get the room for the AP rate, buy a one day ticket to make a package and add the DDP too? Anyone know the details on this?

I'd get the DDE, but I'd be going in Feb with a friend and she seems VERY interested in the DDP. any advice would be great. thanks!;)

You can't add the DDP to an AP rate. You have to get the package rate, which is usually not discounted unless there is a special promotion.

Thanks for responding! I kind of figured you couldn't do it. It seems like everything with Disney is a wash--it would be great to get the AP rate and buy the DDE and we'd probably spend the same as paying rack rate with the DDP. Oh well! More fun planning for me to do! :goodvibes

I have an AP and have purchased the DDP several times over the last three years since it's been offered. I also have the DDE card. I've had to pay rack rate for the room and then buy a one day park ticket in order to add the DDP. The only time I didn't have to pay rack rate was for my upcoming Dec trip. I was able to use a CHASE VISA code which offered a room discount and still allowed the DDP. For me it was a better deal than the AP discount.

I currently have three one day park tickets and will have another after my Dec trip. I buy my AP for the park admission, because I go at least three times a year. If I get to use it for a room discount, I just consider that an extra benefit, but it's not the reason I buy an AP. If you are making more than one trip and will be there at least a week each time, an AP makes sense. The AP also gives you a discount at the Disney Store in DTD. It also makes sense to buy the DDE card, if you are not going to be using the DDP every trip. It usually pays for itself in one trip (and don't forget it also gives you 20% off alcohol and 50% off Pleasure Island admission.
