AP and blockout days?

We're planning on upgrading our GAT to Deluxe APS on the last day of our trip, which happens to be a blockout day. Can we still use them for the rest of that day?

The other thing was, we're thinking of getting DH's AP early, so we can use the discounts on food and tours. He'd rather sleep in than do early entry. (I just do not understand that man sometimes!) Is there any way to get him in the park on a blockout day other than buying a full price hopper? Thanks!

You can get a blockout day pass for $40. I think you get it at the ticket booth the day you need it.

And yes, you can use the APs on the day that you upgrade to them.

We plan on upgrading our 4-day hoppers to APs on a Saturday. We plan on going in the morning, leaving in the afternoon and coming back in the evening with a stamp. If we upgrade in the morning and get a stamp will they let us back in with our APs or are we better off waiting to upgrade until the evening? Thanks!

I have not done it, but from what I've read I am positive that you are allowed to leave, come back, and even hop on the day you do this.

As an AP holder you don't ever have to get stamped (except maybe on xmas and NYE), by the way.

When we upgraded in 07 we did it on a Saturday, blacked out. DBF and I (the girls were with their "real dad" (haha) that day so we did it as a surprise for them. We upgraded at the ticket booth outside but we could have gone inside to the bank to do it. We were able to hop all day with no problems with our new AP's and we did not need a hand stamp to do so. Once you have an AP there is no need for a hand stamp, your picture pops up on a screen everytime they scan you in.
So, we didn't need a blackout pass or handstamp and we were able to hop.

Oh and if you need a blackout day pass, it's $40 at the ticket booths. Just stop there and pick it up for DH before he goes in.
