AP and black-out dates

Have you included the 10% off most food in that math? That hasn't been a huge amount for us, but it might be for you guys. :)

Would you *have to* go into the parks on that Saturday in April? Not sure how I managed, but we didn't go into the parks on our first day in Anaheim in May. Could be a day for cheaper souvie shopping at the outlet, exploring Garden Walk (is that what it's called? I'm suddenly blanking), maybe going to a beach?

no, i guess i don't HAVE TO go into the parks on that saturday. but it is our last full day there. i'm thinking of wed 4/22 to sun 4/26...leaving seattle 1st thing wed morning and go straight into DL...then leaving in the morning of sunday 4/26. so i would like to spend a full day at DL/DCA on that saturday if possible...i don't have to, but i'd like to.

...and no, i haven't accounted for the 10% off most food in the parks. yet another good point. would you happen to know which restaurants in the park offer this AP discount? all of them?

The list/chart/doohickey thing is here.

Off the top of my head, the only places that do NOT do the AP discount are Royal Street Veranda, BurrBank ice cream, and Napa Rose. I'm sure there are others, but those are what I remember. :)

I understand the last full day part, oh yes.

But hey, if the AP doesn't work for you, it doesn't work for you! :upsidedow

Gibson Girl Ice cream doesn't give an AP discount either (darn it!).

thanks for the list, bumbershoot. i forwarded it on to my sister, who is also contemplating upgrading to APs.

Ok, this might sound dumb... but when you renew your AP do you pay the same price? How does renewing your AP work: :confused3 I'm thinking of getting my first AP but I don't know the process.. I just know what goodies it comes with :goodvibes

When it is time to renew you pay the current price so if it goes up since the last time you purchased / renewed you get dinged for it. I think, if I'm wrong on this I would be thrilled!

I just make it a habit to hand my pass virtually anytime I buy something, what have you got to lose? It is sort of arbitrary how some places don't give a discount so the best approach is just use it wherever and see where it takes you in the name of 10% off.

It would be cool if you got 10% off on your next AP by handing them your current / expired one upon renewal!

Current renewal discounts by $20.00 for both the deluxe and premium passes, $249.00 and $369.00. You can renew on line. You can apply on line and receive a number which you then can use to view all discounts.

If you can snag a hotel discount this can be significant, as much as 35-40% depending on the date and hotel. The current calender is through November.

As bumbershoot says, the best part of an AP is now you hsve to go back! s, i

To get the $20 discount when you renew, I think you have to do it BEFORE it expires.

Well, I don't think we're going to get APs because we don't know if we'll be going back later in the year. To play it safe, we aren't going to upgrade.

There are others who have said (recently) that a quietly kept secret is that you can actually get the renewal discount even 30 days after the renewal date passes.

Of course, you don't get a re-dated AP, but you can still use the discount.

I didn't read all the posts so i'm sorry if this was said already. I would buy three day tickets get the MM and on your last day upgrade to AP's. That way you aren't blacked out and get MM.

yes, this is exactly what i plan to do...IF i decide to upgrade to APs. :)
