ap, adding extra days to get the discount

ok please no bashing, but my check in is for june 5. (2 days later than the codes are out for) what would happen if I changed my ressie for 2 xtra days starting at the 3rd, to get the rate, and later drop those 2 days. after the new rates come out.Is this unethical? i need to wait until the 5th d/t school and other ressies for the trip down.

If you cancel those two days then the AP discount will be canceled and you will be charged rack rate.

ditto...as per dcgrumpy. If you are going to do it when the next set of rates come out (not sure what they will be or when they will be or if they will be...) why not just wait until they come out & book then. You will not get to keep that rate you have now if you check in on 6/5
