We have a reservation at POR for Aug 3rd to the 11th, but if I can get a good rate at the Poly or CR. would rather stay at one of them. Any info on Aotearoa longhouse( by the monorail) is this a quiet place? Can you hear noise from the luau? How about the Tokelau Longhouse? Any info on either one would be appreciated. DS9 and DD7 would love watching the monorail glide by our room. ( I'm sure I would too) Thanks to Tikiman's web site on the Poly. It has everything you'd want to know about the Poly.

I'd request Aotearoa. So many people ask for Tokelau for its central location - but Aotearoa is a good location as well. Ask for the monorail side if you want to see that. I understand that you can't hear the luau.

I've stayed in both longhouses and loved both of them. In Aoteora we had a third floor monorail view room. It was very quiet there, no noise from monorail or from luau. My daughter was 10 when we stayed there and she really liked watching the monorails go by. I would have to say that Tokelau was my favorite of the two though mostly for its location. It is in a very central location that is close to the GCH and a much shorter walk to the TTC to catch the monorail to Epcot than Aotorea was. I also loved the beautiful view we had from our third floor balcony in Tokelau of the quiet pool and could even look sideways off the balcony and see the castle at night. Either location is just fantastic so you can't go too far wrong. Next time I want to try the Fiji longhouse. The funny thing is the first year I requested Tokelau and they put me in Aoteora, the next year I requested Fiji or Aoteora and they put me in Tokelau because these two buildings were being renovated at the time. I guess if you always get your room request you never have the chance to try something new. :)

In Dec we stayed in Aotearoa. We had a first floor lagoon view
at night if u opened up the patio door could hear the music to the luau. It was close to the GCH and we loved the location.
It is a a longer walk to the TTC but still not a bad walk. As much as u walk at disney what is a few more steps. and the nice thing is if you drive there is and unloading zone that is not to far from the building u can pull your car there and take your things to your room and then park.
