AOL 9.0 Users...Welcome Screen Change?

Hi,
Not sure if it's on my end, but yesterday I had a heck of a time connection to the internet (crappy dial-up), and when I was able to, the connection speed was much slower than normal.

Today, I'm able to sign on, a little faster, but now notice that the 9.0 Welcome Screen has a different layout. There used to be a window on the upper left, that had various shopping services, which is now included inside the 'main box' with the news, etc. It's just different, and AOL says it shouldn't be...Anyone else notice the change?

I called AOL to see if they made the change, and if so, thinking it might take a while for the 'glitches' to get worked out.
I was told that nothing was changed, and it was a 'graphics issue' on my end. We did some minor tweaking, but it's all still the same.

I've called AOL before with problems, and been told that it's 'not on their end' before when in fact it was, so I'll ask you all:)

Thanks,
Mark

On the bottom in really small letters should be a thing that says change this screen.

Hope this helps

I have it also for one of my screen names. I guess it depends on which opening page we chose. The screen name I use most of the time still looks the same. It's been terribly slow lately, and it's disconnecting and then reconnecting on it's own way too often.

Anyone else have their "dial up" numbers reduced recently? We went from about 4 or 5 numbers in our area down to one!

I don't know what's going on...I called AOL again, and was walked through the same 'fix'.
One major problem is trying to communicate and explain the problem to the tech.
And I like it when they say 'you're all set', and can't get off the phone quick enough, and practically hang up on you, rather than ensure the problem's been fixed or not.

I still think it's an AOL issue:mad:

I, too, have a new "Welcome" screen. Doesn't bother me, I really don't look at it that much anyway. What is bothering me is that the spam is starting to get through the controls. I never used to have a problem until about a week ago. I talked to a tech yesterday who told me how to "clean the filter" but a couple still got through today. Anyone else with that problem?

I'm having a weird problem with AOL the past couple of days. When I click a news story on the welcome screen or the "news" section, I get a screen name page where I have to type in my screen name and password again--as if I've gone in through MSN or something.
Today I tried "live tech help" to fix it but only got a gray screen with the java icon. I'm not going to sit on the phone, I just won't read those stories. Just wondering why I have to type my name in twice.
