AoA-LM or Pop or ASmu

I'm currently booked for 4 nights at the Little Mermaid in early November. My sister is going to be staying at the Swan, so I'm essentially on my own at the resort. With the release of the AP discounts this morning, I can book preferred at either Pop or ASmu (or probably any of the All Stars) with an approximate $25 savings per night.

On at least one of the days, my sister and I are going to the F&W Festival. On the F&W day(s), I'll definitely take the bus transportation. Otherwise I'll have my own car and I'll probably drive anywhere else.

I booked the LM room because I want to check out AoA for my kids & grandkids who are a family of 5. I also like the idea of a brand new resort. But I am a bit concerned about the walk to LM on the days that I do take the bus. More than the distance, I'm concerned about walking the distance in the dark on my own.

Should I change resorts? If so, which one? Should I book standard or preferred at Pop or ASmu? Or should I just make a request at AoA to be as close as possible to Animation Hall?

Also any other tips or insights are appreciated.

If I was in your situation, I would book POP. Well first off, I just LOVE POP!! But here are a couple of reasons why.
I wouldn't pay rack rate for a LM room when they are so far away from the main hall and the buses and there are discounts out for other rooms. Now if you book a room at POP you could take a walk across Generation Gap Bridge and check AoA out and see How far this rooms are away. I was there this past July and while the pathways weren't yet open to the buildings, you could see they were going to be a HIKE! If I were you, I would stay at POP in a standard room ask for a lake view which will keep you out of the 80/90's section which is the furtherest from Classic hall/bus stops. POP doesn't ever share buses which may or may not happen at the All Stars. I have previously stayed at the All Stars. And while they are nice (except I HATED Sports!), once I stayed at POP, I didn't ever want to go back to an All Star. :rotfl2:

I am leaning towards switching to Pop. Is it a long walk between Pop and AoA? I did remember that I was also interested in trying out AoA's food court.

I think staying with AoA would mean a lot more crowds at the resort because its so new plus with the F&W festival its probley going to be crowded. If you decide to switch, try POP because I've heard this resort is much better then the AS resorts:)

when I stayed at POP in July I was in bldg 5 in the 60's right next to generation gap bridge. I walked across in less than 5 min and past the Big Blue (pool) stopping to take some pics and was in their food court in under 10 min. I went over there twice. It is a LOVELY resort!! But I think if you stayed at POP it would be a great way to get your discounted room and get to check out AoA (even eat there). And I also forgot to mention in my first post that you don't need to worry about walking around in the dark, POP is very well lit at night!

Thank you for all the Pop info! Hearing that it's well lit is very reassuring.
