We currently have reservations at AOA LM for December 29 - Jan 4th (I booked early because we are going between Christmas and New Years and I want to ensure a room!) and I am traveling with my 17y girl and 13y boy and parents.

Last time we stayed at the AOA Cars suite but now the kids are too old to share a bed. We loved AOA so we decided to get two LM rooms instead this time. To stay in budget, two rooms at a moderate unfortunately isn't an option.

But I keep reading about how long the walk is! We never did go that far over on the resort property last time, so I didn't think it was that far. Last time we were located in one of the further Cars rooms, but we didn't think the walk to the buses was bad.

Is LM that much further? Should I be switching my reservations to a different value resort? Other suggestions?

*My parents are in their 60's but both are in good shape and ready for the miles that will be walked each day!

Thank you for any guidance!

I couldn't find a resort map with a distance key, but I used Google maps and measured with my fingers. It's about the same distance from the main AOA building to the LM section as it is between the two resorts' main buildings. So if you visited Pop century while at AOA, it's about that f are.

I would stay, especially since your kids are older. A couple extra minutes IF you get put to farthest side is not that far. You could put in your requests "close to transportation" and hope for one of the closest rooms.

We stayed in LM room when my daughter was 13, it is a long walk and I walk 3-4 miles most days at home. I think the walk was so long because at the end of the day it was so long heading back. We were actually closer to POP and once we figured that out we used POP transportation. We had refillable mugs and it was hard to get money's worth on those because of walk.

We found the walk far. About 10 minutes one way to the lobby/buses. We are reasonably fit people but I like using the resort refillable mug for a hot chocolate in the morning and 20 minutes round trip is too much time spent walking before we've even gotten to the parks. I like the All-Stars for their compactness but AoA is nicer, imo.

We stayed at AoA LM in October. I didn't find the walk bad at all and it takes you through the Lion King area which was fun.

I recommend getting a touringplans membership and using the room request fax to request a room in either of the closer LM buildings (either 9 or 7 I believe). I was really nervous about the walk after reading reviews but it really wasn't a big deal.

I'd move to a different value and book a preferred room. I do enough walking I want to limit it at my resort as much as possible.
