Day 3 - Sat 25th
Hubby was awake at 7am and he tried waking me about 8am but I pleaded for more sleep apparently. I woke up at 8.30 feeling a lot better and we tried to decide what to do today. Hubby decided he fancied going shopping so we didnt bother heading to MGM like wed planned. We watched the Weather Channel for awhile and they seemed pretty certain that Hurricane Jeanne was going to hit us at some point over the weekend. We ventured down to the food court about 9.15am and it was quite busy still. We both had the breakfast bagel - scrambled egg, american cheese and a sausage patty. Very yum.
We walked to the car and drove out towards International Drive. Hubby wanted to visit Circuit City to pick up a modem lead so we could try and get online back at the hotel. We managed to get the lead and we picked up an AOL CD for a free 45 day trial too. I also bought the V series on DVD together with Road to Perdition for Andy and Never Ending Story. From here, we crossed over to Florida Mall. We parked near Saks Fifth Avenue and went in through the main entrance. First stop was Hot Topic were I picked up some great guitar earrings and a key ring of the Cheshire Cat. From here we went to the Disney Store where hubby got a great Tigger t-shirt for half price. Naturally I had to pay a visit to my favourite store - Old Navy. I managed to spend $70 but I got a lot for my money. I also got my Halloween outfit to wear to Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party which I was very pleased about. I got an orange T-shirt with Love At First Bite on it and a pair of lounge trousers with pumpkins on them - very festive.

All I need now is a pair of Halloween ears and Im all set. After our spending spree at Old Navy, we decided to head to Festival Bay. Andy wanted to visit Steve & Barrys and he was also interested in maybe trying Fuddruckers.
The drive to Festival Bay was very uninteresting but it didnt take us long to get there. We parked up and headed straight for Steve & Barrys. Andy managed to get some really nice tops. Unfortunately they didnt have the top that he was after - it had Sluggers written on it. Hed bought it during our last visit and then once when he was getting Foo the cat ready for a stay at his brothers, Foo didnt want to get in her basket and she clawed his top, ripping it in several places. Never mind, he got some nice ones to replace it.
Next was to experience Fuddruckers. From the outside it looks like a bar. You follow the path round the side and it takes you to where you order your food. They make the burgers there on site and you can actually see the burgers being made. They have quite an extensive menu. The milkshakes look gorgeous but we gave them a miss today. Instead, Andy ordered the half pound three cheese burger and I had the mushroom swiss. We shared an order of onion rings and they do bottomless beverages for $1.79. We ordered our food about 1.15 so it was quite busy and we waited at least 20 minutes. You pay for your food and give them your name and they call your name over the loud speaker when your food is ready. The food - well it was incredible. Andy reckons its the best burger he has ever eaten and Im inclined to agree. The burger is pure 100% mince - no fat, no gristle. We paid about $17 for the 2 huge burgers, onion rings and 2 drinks and it was well worth it. They have a huge condiments bar with ketchup, BBQ sauce, mayo and god knows how many other sauces, as well as the fresh counter with tomatoes, salsa, hot cheese sauce, onions, gherkins etc. If you get a chance to go to Festival Bay you have to experience Fuddruckers!
It was about 2.30 when we started heading back to Disney. We had considered stopping at Universal but I had an aching knee no painkillers on me, plus we wanted to see what was happening. We passed the Food Court back at the resort and there were signs up about its imminent closure as soon as the weather got bad enough. They were asking guests to get their own provisions together etc. We went back to the room to watch some TV. The weather channel was predicting that it would hit around 8am Sunday morning. We relaxed for awhile and decided not to bother going out. We gave it awhile and then headed down to the food court around 7. It was absolutely heaving here - most people were panic buying whatever they could get their hands on. Hubby was just as bad - he had a tray full of goodies, youd have thought we were a family of 4 of something. Still, its just as well we did really. It took us a while to queue up, there really was people everywhere. We came straight back to our room with our goods and had a couple of slices of pepperoni pizza.
As we caught the end of the Top 7 Must Sees, it ended very abruptly and then Holes appeared - it wasnt even the beginning of it. We checked the other Disney info channels and you had films starting there too. On the Company Clips channel (23) the Little Mermaid was starting so I was a happy bunny. Andy couldnt stop yawning so he got into bed for a kip. The kip turned in to a 3 hour sleep. I carried on watching films and typing up the trip report, also finding some time to post. The films we had included Pirates of the Caribbean, Little Mermaid, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Toy Story, Finding Nemo and Tarzan. The films are on a loop so I watched them last night and now its constant repeats.
The wind was really picking up about 11pm. I came offline and noticed we had 2 messages from staff. The first one was telling us that the food court would try and remain open until midnight if the weather allowed and that we should all stay in our rooms. The second one said that we were now confined to our rooms and basically we had to stay put until they told us it was ok. Andy woke up briefly and I watched films until about 2am. By this time, the wind was really howling and the rain was lashing, it was getting pretty scary. I watched some of the Local 6 news and it was showing Downtown Orlando. After this, I went to bed, leaving the TV on so it blocked out some of the wind noise.
