Anywhere to watch AFL Grand Final?

So this is a very far in advance question, and random.
We are looking at a trip for sept 18-sept-28 2016 trip to WDW and universal (7N WDW, 3N universal) and hubby is being a pain in my @r$e about not going in October (cricket season) and we can't be there for September 17 because it's our travel buddy's son's 2nd birthday and they have to be home for that.
Anyway, now they're being annoying about the GF.
Do you think the ESPN club at the boardwalk would show it? Or maybe the new NBC sports bar/restaurant would be done in time and show it?
Where else in the area do you think may show it?

You might be able to stream it online, I have a friend living in New York who watches every game live online.

That's teue but it would have to rely on the WDW or universal wifi and I could connect the laptop to the TV with a HDMI cable.

I think that would be last resort though. A bar in the area would have to show it? Surely?

I think you already mentioned ESPN. I would check with them closer towards the time to see if they are planning on telecasting it.

Yeah that's probably a good idea. It's well over 12 months away, but I guess I could find out this year if they're showing it and then go on the basis that whatever they do this year, they'll do next and deal with it then

ESPN Zone in Downtown Disney (DL) always shows it, so I'd assume ESPN at WDW would show it too.

However, with the time zone differences, it'd be starting after midnight, so maybe they won't stay open that long? Perhaps call or email them on GF day this year to see what they're planning, and then go by that for next year.

And this is why I don't book holidays in September. Just causes fewer arguments all-round. Our last big trip was in 2012, I insisted we flew to LA the day after the AFL grand final because "just in case hahaha".

So there I was at the MCG on the day before we flew out, with an 8pm flight out of Melbourne back to Sydney. All went well, we won the game, I partied like crazy for 15 minutes before sprinting to find a cab, any cab to take me to Tullamarine so I could get my flight home. My wife said she was leaving with or without me on the Sunday morning.

Well he doesn't want to travel during cricket season, which is fair enough because he plays and coaches, which results in me going to WDW a month before my 30th birthday rather than on my actual birthday... That's fine, but I'm not planning the trip around a game he doesn't even play in.

Plus, he barracks for north, so let's be honest, they won't be in the granny next year, though he tels me over and over that 2016 is their year (last year, 2015 was their year...)
And our best friend barracks for the Bulldogs, so no risk there ;-)

In 2011 and 2013 we planned to be away in September on purpose, just on the off chance our two teams would be playing each other in the GF (we thought we might kill each other, or at least end up in divorce court! Safer if we are away from it all and not "forced" to watch it).

As it turned out, my team Collingwood was in the GF in 2011, so I watched it at ESPN Zone in Downtown Disney (disappointing result for me), and DH's team Hawthorn was in the GF in 2013 (and had a better result than my Pies!), which he also watched at ESPN Zone. Gotta say, for me, being away in Disneyland lessened the blow of losing!

And they were already airing it at ESPN zone? You didn't have to request it?
Hoping that the ESPN at the boardwalk plans on airing it.

Yeah, they were already showing it. The only problem I see with it being shown in Orlando is the timing of it. On the west coast, it finished around midnight so ESPN Zone was still open, but I'm not sure it'd be open at 3am!

Yeah that was my next question
It will depend on daylight savings, I think at that time of year, it's closer to 1am?

With it being covered on espn2 and espn3 in the U.S. you should be able to watch it on your room at Disney resorts
