Military guys will run and swim across all the lagoons in the mornings end to end and repeat. You can swim/run one lagoon in a citcle by running on the beach when you get out back to start. Good workout and easy to do!

I mentioned the same upthread. I started doing this when I saw a local triathlon group doing the loop. I asked if I could join and they said it was men only. Shouldn't have said that to an at the time 50 year-old, short woman. They told me to join them the following Friday.
We just got back and our boys are training for open water swims so they used the lagoon each day. They say it felt like about 200 yards across one way.

Dang, is it that far? I was calling them 100s when I was there. To be clear, I'm not doubting you, because I'm notoriously bad at estimating open water (and yardage in golf). I was doing "400 IMs" there....that were 800 IMs?! I am retroactively hungry.
Also wanted to mention that Ala Moana Beach Park is a great swimmers location located right near Ala Moana Center, for anyone who is spending any days close to Waikiki.
