I just called DLH to confirm that Travelocity did not mess up our ress... and it is all ok. However, I had read that if you stayed at a DL resort and had at least a 2 day parkhopper you could do EE. When I called the DLH a while ago the CM said only if we had at least a 3 day park hopper... since we are only going to be there 1 1/2 day I got the 2 day so we could get in early. I did get it from the San Diego Navy base for $89 for an adult 2 day ph, so it is a great deal. But do you all think we will be able to get in early next Thur? We check in late Tues. night.
Whilch brings me to the other question... is the only way to get into the Toontown madness on Wed. morning is if we had bough our tickets from AAA? Is that the only way to get into DL befor the offical 9am opening?

And I read some place that if you are staying at a DLresort you can take the monorail straight into Fantasy land... is this correct? If so how do we do this. The CM had no idea, so maybe this is only one of those rumors we get online sometimes... Would we be able to catch the monorail about 8:45am - or earlier/latter? Would it be a good idea to try and make a ADR at someplace in DL for earlier so we could get in earlier? And if so where? Do they have a Crystal Palace like at WDW?

Thanks for any/all help. I grew up there, and made a trip last Aug, but this is my DS, 14 first DL trip, and DH hasn't been in over a dozen years! We only get to stay next Wed and for a few hours Thur morning.

If I remember correctly you have to have a 3 day plus PH to get the early entry.

Yea, thats what the CM said also. But I read someplace that if you were staying on site at a DLResort you could get in with a 2 day park hopper... hope that was true!

If not anyone know how the monrail works to get in for DLH guests?
And if we made early ADRs in the park if we could get in early...? I have done this a WDW, not so much to get in early, but so we could get in, eat, and have a little bit of an edge on the crowds...

Also for WDW there is a site that has what the expected crowd level for everyday for the rest of the year is expected to be... is there one for DL also? And if so what is the web address?

Thanks!

For about the last 10 months they have offered all on site guests EE, regardless of what entry media they are using. It is an unadvertised special, and can end at anytime. They usually tell you at the time of check in that it is a special perk for staying there. They will deny it up until that point, in case the special is pulled before your visit.

You may not book an early dinning to get in early. There are only 3 places in the park that take PS (priority seating). Carnation Cafe, Plaza (minnie and friends character meal) and blue Bayou (currently closed for the pirates rehab). None of them start seating before park opening.

The monorail does not take you into Fantasyland, it takes you into Tomorrow land. Some times its quicker then going to the main gate, sometimes not. Just depends on the lines. We usually like to enter at the main gates, just because it feels special.

Oh, and yes, you needed to book thru Disney Travel or AAA to get morning madness. Its a special pass/ voucher, and they will ask for it at the gates to toon town.

Thanks so much hlbtimes2! I really hope they still have EE next Thur ! We will only have till about noon in the parks... My oldest DS is flying in to LAX at 2:47 pm on Thur and I guess we need to pick him up at the airport... But at least we will get a few hours more in the parks!
My DH thought we could do both parks on one day, next Wed. And while I did both in 2 days, taking my time, I want to see some stuff I missed ! And show DS 14 how different it is from WDW!

I'm confident you'll have EE on Thrusday. They've been offering it for months, and I've heard no rumors of it ending anytime soon.

One day for both parks? Is the man crazy!? I'm going this weekend with two friends. One hasnt been in about 10 years, the other in 15+. They bought 2 day tickets. I dont even think that will be enough! Thankfully, I have an ap and can go on Sunday while they shop. (and this is my 3rd visit in 8 months!).

I hope you get in. My brother had virtually the same circumstances over easter/spring break and he was denied EE, even after to speaking to the lead a GC. I have heard what hlbtimes stated but it appears that it does not happen all the time. Good luck.

I'm not really counting on EE... but it would be sweet! And yes, DH is a crazy man... he doesn't truely remember DL. Heck, I grew up in SCal. and went several times a year for a dozen years, but the last time before my Aug '05 trip was 11 years ago, and I didn't remember it all! We do get to WDW several times a year, and I think since we go there so much he is thinking that there isn't that much difference... hahahhhehhahah. Poor sweet thing he is! I just keep reminding him the DL trip was his idea...

So as of now I am not going to plan on EE. I figure we will hit the major different things that DL has and WDW doesn't.. Matterhorn, Indy, Alice!, the new Space Mt. and a few other things. Then DCA, for Soarin' which is sooooo much better themed then WDW's! And Cal.Screaming...

I did 3 days solo last Aug and hit it all... or what was running at the time! So I have a little idea what we want to do.
What I DON'T have is a plan of attack like I have when we do WDW. And some of the that is 'cause I'm not sure if we will do the Monorail into the park or front gate it... I could let the guys deside... but I am the "expert" and if it is wrong.... no one will care but me!

I would still plan on EE, a number of members validate that it goes on, I would not let it ruin my trip if it did not happen. Disney is very erratic about what does and what does not happen. Go for the gold, you will have a great time and thank you for serving our country.

We are at the GC right now (Wed). We used the EE from our 3 day park hopper on Tuesday. We hope to use the GC perk tomorrow (Thurs). When we checked in we were given a sheet telling us that we just needed to show our check in slip upon entry. (This was the same sheet listing the daily events at the GC). Hopefully it will work for us.

Tuesday morning EE was magical! My DD and I were the second riders of the day on Peter Pan. We got through 6 rides (4 in FL and 2 in TL) in 45 minutes. We could have easily done every ride in FL (except Casey Jr. and Storybook Canal which weren't open until the park opened) and every ride in TL (except Autopia which didn't open until the park opened), but DD didn't want to do many of the dark rides in FL, so we were actually looking for something to do during the last 15 min of EE since we had done everything we wanted to! :cheer2:

Just adding that booking through Dreams Unlimited Travel also will get you Toontown Early Morning Madness, plus all the Walt Disney Travel Components. :thumbsup2

Didn't book throught any one but me.. and the deal we got on Travelocity with our room! $159.25 a night for a View room at DLH.. and as I was talking to a CusRep at Travelocity she said there wasn't a room there for that price! So I booked online and got it, and posted it here and a few others got it too!

Then I called the San Diego Navy MWR (Moral,Welfare,Recrecation office/ or ITT...) and asked about military prices for tickets...
$89.00 for adult 2 day park hopper... got 3 and they FedXed them, we had them in less then 22 hours! And we live in South Carolina, so it was a true coast to coast delivery.

Got the tickets to fly from Air Tran.. Anyone remember the Wendys Promo in Feb that you could collect cups and get AirTran tickets? Well AirTran made a mistake and gave me 2 round trip tickets instead of 1... and then insisted they didn't! So I used both of them for this trip for DS, and my self. Then DH bought a ticket, cheap, from them for the same flights....

Other DS works for Enterprise car rental, so we get the 50% off rate for our car....

All in all , at this point, I am realizing how very, very lucky we have been !
And I really must remember that the whole point of the trip in NOT Disney, gasp! But our DD is grad, with honors!, from USC ! She can't go to DL with us cause of work and grad stuff, but one of her best friends dads was an imagineer for the new Monsters ride... she went for 2 days for free...

We have truely been blessed so far with this whole trip!
And all the stuff I have learned from the DIS is really helping!

Thank you so very much for all the info and stuff...

Now if I can fit in a "quick" trip to the LA garment/fabric dist... life will be better then great!!! Got to get the costume stuff started for MNSSPH at WDW this Oct!

Hope you have a wonderful trip! Congrats to your daughter, that is very exciting.

Thanks! She has worked very hard... anyone need a 21 1/2 yo with a BOS... that has large college loans...? I mean as an employee.
Wish she was going with us, but she is still working 3 jobs, 1 with USC do Protcol and Events... she got to work the Larry King show when they had the Pres. Debates 4 years ago... she works long hours....so she can't go to DL! I should feel bad, but as I said she just went and will prob. be staying in SCal... I am even thinking of getting her a P.Annual Pass as part of her Grad present. And then of course she could maybe book rooms for us to come and visit...

We are gonna have a great time, even if it snows, rains and we can't get in on EE.
I called a friend that works for DreamsUnlimited and asked if we could buy Toontown Madness or what we might have to do and there doesn't seem to be anything we can do since we have our tickets and room all ready. And that's ok, we have gotten great deals!

WOW! Congrats to your DD!

Have a wonderful time - the weather should be great! Not too hot, and it looks like the rain is over!
