DD had a collision at softball yesterday and jammed her thumb. It's swollen and bruised but she is able to move it side to side today just not back and forth?? She's been icing it since it happened but is there anything else to do? To top it off, the poor kid was at the Dr yesterday morning b/c she is so sick from allergies, have her on a z-pack and if that doesn't help have to bring her to a pulmonologist or allergist.

If she can't move the thumb in all directions you might want to take her to the doctor to rule out a break. Jammed thumbs can really hurt. I jammed mine at work one day and it took weeks before it completely stopped hurting. Hope your DD is better soon!

Get an xray. My "jammed" finger is still crooked, 30 some odd years after my mom said, "it's just jammed.":sad2:

I normally just run and jump around like a mad man yelling and whining....then my wife tells me to "man-up" :rolleyes1
