We're going to be in the world when Narnia opens on Dec. 9th. :cool1: Does anyone know if anything special is happening at Disney Studios at the Narnia attractions that day? My daughter is reading this book right now in school and after Christmas break, they are taking a field trip to the movies to see it in the theater. I was thinking if something special was happening in conjuction of the movies' opening, it would be fun to attend. She already has instructions from her English teacher to take lots and lots of pictures!

Yes, I'd be interested to know about this too!

I havent heard anything special beyond the attraction opening on December 9

What attraction? Is it the movie sets like haunted mansion?

Last Thursday I was at MGM, and there is a Narnia backdrop/set thing by Walt's Dream exhibit on Mickey Ave. When I was there, there was a big crowd around it. There was some sort of interview going on, with cameras and CMs everywhere. They were interviewing these four kids, who I assume must be in the Narnia movie. I did not recognize any of the kids, but I guess they must be pretty important to be interviewed like that! :teeth:

FROM THE DIS:

Journey Into Narnia: Creating the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

Starting on December 9, a soundstage at Disney's MGM Studios is transformed into a wintry wonderland that transports you to Narnia. Giant trees are part of the icy landscape.

As you explore this mythical land, you'll see costumes, armor, maquettes, props, incredible creatures and storyboards that went into the making of this much anticipated movie.

The Chronicles of Narnia: Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe premieres in theaters on December 9.

hugsforeyoore,
We were at mgm the same day. We didnt get to see the kids get interviewed because we had to run(literally) to make it to the last lights moters action show but yes they were the kids from the move. We were standing around waiting for them to come out and were told they were shooting some dvd extra clips and things of that nature.

Right. That's a description of the attraction opening. I believe the person who started this thread was wondering if anything special was happening beyond the attraction opening

Cool! I don't think I ever seen "movie stars" before. And even more, I have never seen or met a famous person ever in my life! Wonder if those kid's careers will take off from this movie. I took some home video of the interview I saw going on, it would be cool to see the same scenes on DVD someday! :)

found this from the Disney website

Journey Into Narnia, the new walk-through attraction at Disney-MGM Studios based on the upcoming film 'The Chronicles of Narnia,' will open the same date as the movie, December 9, 2005. You will enter Narnia through a giant wardrobe, as the characters in the book and movie do. It will take about 10-15 minutes walk through the attraction, which is housed in Soundstage 4 on Mickey Avenue, home of of the former "Making of the Haunted Mansion." Included in the walk-through is a gallery of elaborate creatures, costumes and props from the movie.

We won't be going until May, so any doings on the film's opening day won't help me (although I'd be interested).

But can anyone tell me if the Narnia sets, etc. will likely still be there when I visit?

Thanks!

oh cool! I didn't realize that Narnia was going to be made by Disney! I love the books, and I'm a big fan of the other movie (the cartoon version).

Thanks for shareing! We will be there on 12/16, so I think the set will still be there. I will be sure to take pics if I can.
