Anything special going on 12/3 - 12/7?

We are thinking of heading down to Orlando the weekend of December 4. We were expecting it to be a dead time but the hotels are surprisingly busy that weekend. DVC shows it as their low season, Thanksgiving has come and gone and it's too early for Christmas. Am I missing something?

The Christmas parade taping is that weekend and also the beginning of pop warner week

I was just going to post the same question. What's Pop Warner week? Does it involve all parks?

The Pop Warner competitions take place at the Wide World of Sports complex. There'll be 64 youth football teams and 400 youth cheerleader/dance teams competing in various age and squad size national championships over the week from Dec. 3 through the 11th. I'd expect that there will be a lot of kids visiting the Disney parks when they're not practicing or competing.

I just thought it was odd that a lot of hotels are sold out but yet the crowd calendars show really low numbers for that weekend.

disney starts Christmas in Nov.

so Disney is during Christmas then. all the christmas shows, parades, fireworks are up and running.
