I am trying to get plans together for our Christmas trip - it sounds crazy, but I love to plan these trips!:bounce: :Pinkbounc
We will be there the week before Christmas (flying home on the 22nd) and are already planning on MVMCP and a Candlelight Processional dinner package. What's not to miss at AK and MGM? I understand the Osmond Lights thingee at MGM isn't there any more. Is that correct? We've never been at Christmas before and I'm soooooooo excited!

I don't blame you for being excited. I got to experience Disney around Xmas in 2003, and it was a wonderful time. Sadly, though, I don't think MGM has anything besides the Osborne Lights (which they didn't have in 2003, so there was nothing "Christmas-y). At AK, in Camp Minnie-Mickey, there was this cute singing group of about a dozen CMs, seemingly like campers, singing Christmas carols. I think I got their schedule on Steve Soars site. They were very enjoyable.
Also in Epcot, don't miss the Christmas tree lighting ceremony!

Thanks for all the replies! I have always wanted to go to Disney at Christmas. DH is a basketball coach and his team is going down for the WWoS but I refuse to stay at the All-Stars with a million basketball players!;) I invited my sister, made my own ressie at POFQ and deemed this a "girls only" trip!

At AK many of the characters are dressed up for the holidays. We saw Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore & Piglet dressed in hats & scarves here. Also at Camp Minnie-Mickey - all of the characters here had holiday clothing on. They were all really cute to see. Also check out Donald's Breakfastasaurus - we did breakfast here & the characters were dressed for the holidays & the restaurant was decorated, too.

At MGM - hopefully, they will have the Osbourne lights return this year. If so - definitely check these out. They were definitely a highlight of our Dec trip. Each park has a huge Christmas tree & most have some holiday decorations throughout the parks. HTH! :)

How much are tickets to MVMCP? How hard are they to get? We want them for Tuesday, December 21st. TIA!:D

At AK, they decorate Camp Minnie-Mickey for the holidays. There are Character-themed Chistmas trees throughout the area and the characters dress in holiday outfits (including Santa Goofy)

As for MGM, the Osborne Lights might be going this year, but I don't think anything has been announced as of yet. Last year, they also did a holiday overlay of the afternoon motorcade complete with characters in holiday outfits, elves, and Santa.

AK has a very big and beautiful African themed Christmas tree just outside the entrance. We took some really great pictures in front of the tree. MGM has some really nice decorations also-I particularly loved the retro Christmas decorations at Prime Time Cafe-the aluminum Christmas tree brought back a lot of fond memories. You will love the Christmas decorations at all the parks and resorts!

Leighe, We are also planning a Christmas trip and we're hoping for MVMCP but the more I read the less it seems likely to be going on when we get there (12/19). The party runs usually 12 nights beginning after Thanksgiving and ending the weekend before Christmas as then the crowds build and the MK stays open later. We're still keeping our fingers crossed for the 19th but it seems very unlikely that it'll happen on the 21st. The dates are announced around the end of April and tickets aren't usually difficult to get until much closer to December. The good news is that the MVMCP parade and shows run during the week before and after Christmas so you can still see those.
