I will be going with my wife for the FIRST TIME to DL. Should I keep my eyes open for anything special this coming 25-27th?

Congratulations on your first trip! Hope you have a great time, it will be a great time to be in the parks, nice weather and light crowds. Take time to stop and check out the little things, and enjoy just being there, and here are some other suggestions...

- Watch the parade! If you sit near City Hall on Main St you'll be in front of a really neat acrobatic float. You'll want to grab a seat about 30-45 min ahead of time, great time to grab some ice cream or a cookie

- Take a train ride around all the way around the park

- Ride the monorail early in the day and ask the CM when you get to the platform if you may sit with the driver. Even if you have to wait for the next trip around, it's really neat!

- Ride the Haunted Mansion with it's holiday overlay, it is only up from late Sept- early Jan.

- Be sure to stop for photo ops and ask the CM to use your camera as well as theirs.

- Enjoy the Halloween decorations and try not to overplan your day. You'll have more fun if you just wander from attraction to attraction and stop at what suits your facy at the time, rather than trying to pre-schedule it all so you can ride every single ride in the park.

Be sure to take some time to enjoy the Halloween ambiance of Main Street. The Dapper Dans are wearing orange and black and Miss Pumpkin can be seen walking down Main Street (yesterday I spotted her around 4 arm-in-arm with the constable). Head up to Woody's Halloween Round-up and check out the pumpkin carver, the rope twirlers, and the singing cowboy. Don't be afraid to do something that seems like it'd only be for kids, like sitting on the floor for the Royal Coronation or decorating a mini pumpkin.

You don't say if you're traveling with children or not, but here are a few special things I'd want to see myself:

Parade of Dreams (7:00 PM nightly, DL)
Aladdin Musical (Wed./Thu., various times in the afternoon, DCA)
Golden Screams (I'm honestly not sure what this is, but it's a special Halloween offering, daily @ various times, DCA)

I love the beauty of the Peter Pan ride (go first thing in the morning to avoid lines), and also the bayou in the Pirates ride. Love that! Oh, and Soarin' in DCA, really spectacular!

Thrill rides I must do again are Splash Mountain, Indiana Jones, Grizzly River Run. I have not yet done Tower of Terror, California Screamin', Space Mountain, Star Tours, or the Matterhorn, though my DS7 thinks he's going to get me on Screamin' with him this trip. We'll see... ;)

So you are leaving before the weekend? If not be sure to hang around for the fireworks on Friday. IMO the best fireworks Disney has, and my best highlight for the park.
 Have fun!!!

don't forget to stop at city hall and let them know that you that its your first time in the park. They will give you a first time button. it's a little priceless souvenier.
