Here is the GMR ride spiel from one of my guidebooks:
Hollywood's famed Mann's Chinese Theater sets the stage for a sedate ride through famous scenes from classic movies enacted by Audio-Animatronic characters. Some live-action excitement and two short films add a bit of Hollywood pizzazz. Long lines snake through a props and costumes exhibit. (Yes, those are "the" Ruby Slippers!). Following the pre-show film, the queue separates - each line gets a slightly different version of one live-action scene. Indoor queue with overflow queue outdoors. Effects many be too intense for small children. Must transfer from ECV to wheelchair. Wheelchair accessible.
I have always like the GMR and I am really looking forward to it during our next trip. I am a big movie buff so the whole idea really appeals to me.
I was just speaking to my sister tonight. She returned from WDW last night. I asked her about GMR and she said that to the best of her recollection it hadn't changed at all. I guess they just cleaned it and gave it some new paint.
We were there in June. I agree, there was'nt any huge changes, although I thought I spotted fresh paint here and there. It's still such a great ride. I never tire of it even though we've ridden it so many times.
