Hi, we've been skipping Boardwalk for the last two visits because it didn't seem like it was for kids. My DD will be 11. Do you think she would enjoy anything there?

::MickeyMo It's cute. They have games like on the real boardwalks and it has a nice atmosphere. They have shops as well. The Fantasia Mini Golf is also nearby. ::MinnieMo

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Boardwalk have Stormalong Bay? They also have Beaches and Cream!

We haven't spent much time there but did go to Spoodles and my ds9 enjoyed the whole atmosphere. For us, living in NJ and near Ocean City, NJ it was like being 'home'. My vote is to go for an evening.....great atmsophere and if you've never been to a boardwalk, it's very realistic.

Nope, both Stormalong Bay and Beaches and Cream are at the Beach Club. You can't pool hop to SaB, but the kiddie coaster pool at Boardwalk is cool too, and B&C is just a short walk/boat to get some great burgers and icecream :goodvibes

Yep, you're wrong. SAB is at BC which is across the lake, as is Beaches and Cream.

My DD's love BW and I'm sure your DD will also. It is worth a try, if you don't enjoy it you can always walk to Epcot or MGM.

I should add a note my DD's are now 17 and 14 and have enjoyed the BW since they were 10 and 7 and still love spending time there.

Twotoohappy and Alice Sr., thanks for the correction! :flower:
Have a Disney Day!

There's TONS of stuff for kids on the boardwalk! :goodvibes

If you've been to a pier before like the Santa Monica Pier or the outside part of Navy Pier in Chicago, it's alot like that. It's also alot like the carnival part of Disney's California Adventure. Carnival style games, popcorn, cotton candy, and lots of cool restaurants. Stormalong Bay is at the YC/BC on the other side of the Boardwalk, but you could probably go and swim there if you'd like.

I think the entertainment that happens there Thur-Sat nights is very kid-friendly. There's a magician, a peddling piano player, juggler. All very entertaining for all ages. My kids (10, 8 and 6) all saw a magician last time, and they loved him. (He was more comedian I suppose than magician.)

There's also a video arcade, face painting, surrey bike rentals etc.... We often stay in the Epcot area resorts, our favorite area to stay in & Boardwalk is part of the appeal of staying there.
I don't know that I would make a special trip there unless I was dining at one of the BW/Y&BC/S&D restaurants.

Sometimes we will exit Epcot through the International Gateway, walk over to the Boardwalk (about 5 minutes), and order pizza from the Spoodles take-out window. They have tables where you can sit outside. Do note that on some days (Mon., Tues., maybe more) there are no activities going on.
