I remember when the beginning of December was off season and it was a really nice relaxing time to go. When I went to WDW in 2005 I did see that it was really busy when I checked into BWI I was given a couple of bad rooms unfortunately they didn't have any rooms to move me to that night at BWI or any other WDW.I have 3 nights booked at POLY,AKL, and WL for 12/07 but any time I try and alter my ressies I am told there are no rooms available at these resorts so I am worried they are booked at capacity 3 monthes away. I know I am staying at 3 really nice resorts but I know all resorts have some undesireable rooms that will be used if they are totally full.I don't mind paying the deluxe rates but I am worried about getting another subpar room.I am also concerned that the parks are going to be crowded.I love MVMCP and the Candlelight Processional but if it is too crowded in 12/07 and the lines for rides are too long I will just go back and enjoy the resort or go to DTD. I may try booking my next trip in January. Is anyone else worried that its going to be really busy in 12/07?::sad2:

I have gone every holiday season for the last 10 years, and yes the crowds have definitely increased. However, I still think it is a slower time of year as I get to do all the rides I want, eat where I want etc and to get the Candlelight Processional, Spectacle of Lights, Holidays Around the World and experience all the magnificent decorations:santa: . I usually go right after Thanksgiving or the first couple of weeks in December and the weekends are noticeably more crowded with Floridians. If I lived there I would certainly head over for a long weekend at that time of year. Anyway - keep the ressie and hope that you get a great room right off the bat.

We went in 2003 and until about the 23rd it was ok. Then it got busy! We are going this year on the 17th and hope to get in a few good days before it gets busy. When I made the ressies the cs person told me to book for possibly more time than we wanted because it was booking fast. I didn't pay the deposit right then and I just called to pay it this week. When I did I said I know we won't stay the last day or two, but again she told me to keep it, that we can modify the end of it later, or even after we get there. She said also that it is pretty much booked up.:santa:

The more I read about the increase in business in December, even the first part of the month, the more I was convinced to change our ressies. There are so many things going on within the first several days that it would be unbelievable if the parks were not busy!! I feel more comfortable that we will be there at the last of Nov. instead. I can understand why you are concerned about the fully booked resorts!

The Disney resorts are going to be very busy as most are sold out for almost all of Dec.

The parks will be very busy at certain times and certainly on weekends. There are no off times anymore at Disney, they made sure of that with special promotions, large groups such as Pop Warner and conventions.

You will still have a wonderful time but the days of being there during low attendance are over.

Thanks for the great responses. I was planning on going right after Thanksgiving also,I even had a discounted AAA package booked for AKL standard CL.Then in 02/07 I got chance for a really good rate for WL CL and Poly CL (which I wasn't planning on booking but the rates were too good to pass up)the rates were not valid for the dates I had booked so I moved my dates to get the discount. Then I tried to move my AKL package to go with my other reservations but all I have been able to get since 02/07 is the rack rate price for AKL CL. I am really happy I got great discounts for WL and Poly CL but I really wanted AKL CL for the sunrise safari. I am paying rack rate for AKL CL because I do really want to stay there again but when you book almost a year early I don't think it should so difficult to get a discount especially during value season.
As far as crowds go when I think back, I have also been to MVMCP a few times and in 2005 I do remember waiting in a few long lines, maybe I just went on the wrong night or maybe I just on the wrong ride at the wrong time. I do know the 1st week of December is busy because of Popwarner and Mousefest so I am staying offsite. If the WDW parks are crowded when I go I will try and savior the memories of the great WDW Christmas decorations,MVMCP, Candlelight Processional and Osbourne lights and spend
more time enjoying my wonderful resorts and DTD and plan all my future trips for a January.:)
