I just completed my 5 day training to be a crew leader, all I am thinking right now is the kids BETTER enjoy their WDW trip!!! :)

Talking about a train wreck, the most unorganized thing I have ever seen, no wonder the govt can't function..

My 24 year old son is going to sometime next week as a census taker in the evenings. He has to do the class before then. He's such an organized person, I hope it doesn't drive him crazy. But for $20 an hour, he can't afford to complain! Maybe it'll be morte organized here where we live, but I doubt it.

I finished my CL training today. We had a good group. All of us will have a crew. We were told in the beginning that some of us may not be assigned a crew. Our FOS spoke with a few other FOS and it seemed we were very luck in the fact that our group was great. One FOS she spoke to had to ask someone to leave. The first 4 days were good but today was a cluster. Mostly because of the room size. We had 14 others to train with us today.

Our crew is already on staying in contact with each other. I am looking forward to digging into all my materials. I have already organized them into sheet protectors.

We had 10 CL's and 9 CLD's, so two of the CL's are sharing a district, with one of them sort of hopping around based on need.. Just so much paper work, forms and other needless waste, but we shall see what happens.. Don't start our crew training until April 26, but they gave us 24 hours next week to prepare, will need to hit the books since it seemed so much was just rushed thru..

I worked for them last month and, yes it is the most unorganized mess I have ever seen. I made great money but, we only got to work for 2 1/2 weeks plus training for 4 days.

Yes, I too have joined the ranks, an idea I got off the DIS boards. and yes, my kids better enjoy their trip, too!

Hopefully, there will be more work than GQE, I trained for 3 days, and only got 5 hours' worth of work. I also start training for next operation on the 26 or 27. I just need to set up kidwatch for the week. Oh the things we'll do for a week at Disney!;)

I am another census CL working for a Disney vacation. I feel very fortunate, our FOS is fantastic. Our training went well. I agree, it was a lot of material to cover in a short amount of time. I have worked phases that lasted from several months, to one as short as one day. The majority lasted a couple months.
I will also be doing a lot of review and prep work this week so my crew will have a good training experience. I want them to be well prepared for field work. Congrats to everyone who got hired, good luck and stay safe out there.

I'm taking the test on Monday to work for the census. Can anyone tell me what the process is once you take the test?

Well they sent several of our existing CLs on to training for the next phase. They "promoted" 4 enumerators (including me) effect last Monday. We are muddling through because we didn't have CL training. Just yesterday somebody handed me the from to track my enumerator's hours on -- duh -- it would have been nice to have that form last Monday. It seems like everyday, somebody is bringing up something that I should already know.

I'm a part-time clerk in a local office (LCO). We were crazy busy a few weeks back hiring all our enumerators, etc. They will start training during the next two weeks, so we'll be busy again then with their folders and payroll.

Our office is great - not TOO badly organized and lots of smart, friendly people in the office and in the field. The amount of paperwork is insane, though!

Just doing this for "fun" - and 100% of my pay is getting thrown right onto our mortgage principal to pay that sucker down and retire it ASAP! (That motivation makes the "work" seem not too bad!)
