My sinuses have been bothering me all year since I had that sinus infection in Jan. and I'm sick of it. Whenever it seems like it's cleared up, I wake up in the morning with blood shot eyes, and constantly blowing my nose. I started taking Tylenol for sinus pain and it's been draining itself all week. I do feel a little better, but right now my face is hurting and I forgot my pills at home. Any suggestions?

There's a few of us sinus sufferers here.
I just went to my allergist this morning for my 2nd infection since September. I'm on a 2wk course of antibiotics to hopefully knock it out so i'm not sick for WDW.

I have lots of suggestions. I like using Advil sinus for pressure/pain. Mucinex is an excellent decongestant. I would suggest using a neti pot (google it). It's done wonders for my sinus problems
The best trick for me when my sinuses are bad is with my winter standby - Vicks vapor rub. I put it in a crockpot of hot water, dunk a face cloth in it and keep applying to my face. The vapors fill the air while in the crockpot, and the warm cloth opens your sinuses.

I also put some vicks on the floor of the tub, shut the bathroom door, run the shower on steam very hot with the curtain open, and just sit there for about 15min reading a book.

Yes - go get a nettipot. It's one of the best things I ever bought.

My niece kept getting Strep Throat because of her sinus problems. My sister took her to and ENT, here in Houston and he said let's not remove her tonsils but place her on a nose spray. What do you know as long as my niece uses this she is okay, but the minute (bag allergy seasons only) she stops the infections comes back. Then the same thing happend to me. I started using the nose spray a couple times a day and have since slacked off. If we are going camping or will be outdoors a lot, I will use they spary and the infections stay away.

My husband swears by this Sinus Rinse: http://www.unimedprod.com/products.shtml

He uses it everyday and twice a day when his sinuses REALLY bother him. He has not had an infection since he started using this product. Before this he was looking at surgery.

I will give it a shot.

My sinuses are KILLIN me this year. Even the Flonase dont work for me anymore!:confused3

I had to have sinus surgery when I was 13 years old because most of my sinus cavities were blocked by cysts and pollyps. Up until that point I had more or less suffered from a perpetual sinus infection. A slightly deviated septum doesn't help. Since the surgery, I'm down to one or two sinus infections per year, over 15 years later. If you have persistent problems, go see an ENT.

My ENT recommends giving the rinse a try.

I have found great sinus relief since starting allergy shots. I used to have a severe sinus headache every day until I started getting the shots.

I had a sinus infection for 7 months (multiple antibiotic treatments). I finally had surgery to clean out the sinuses and open the windows (whatever that means) almost 10 years ago.

I have not had a single sinus infection since - I've only had about 2-3 colds during that whole time. That surgery was the best thing I've ever done. It also was a piece of cake. It was day surgery, and I never even needed a pain pill. It truly was a cure all.
