I know a couple of people who have birthdays on the 24th or 25th and they hate sharing their day with Christmas. I can relate because my birthday is 9 days after, so I got to wondering if there are any DISers who have a Christmas Eve or Christmas Day birthday and whether or not you enjoy when your birthday occurs.

My twin brothers were born on December 24th, which always made it difficult for party planning.

My youngest son was born on December 31st. He likes having a New Year's Eve birthday, he thinks everyone is having a party for him! :)

My neice was born Dec. 24. My sister brings a cake to our house and we all celebrate it here on Christmas day. She gets 2x's as much as everyone else.:D

Mine is the 25th...trust me, you get used to it. Plus...almost everyone is off work to help you celebrate! :teeth: LOL...the only downside is the menu never varies from year to year...good thing I like turkey!

DH's birthday is the 24th. I feel sorry for him. His mom wasn't a very good mom when he was growing up (she's a great mom now), and he had only had 2 birthday parties in his whole life when I met him in college. I know partially what a pain it is to have a birthday then, since mine was the 20th, so I always make it a point to do something special for him. I especially make sure I wrap his b-day presents in b-day paper--not Christmas paper!

DS is close, his is on the 26th. Makes for 3 very busy days in a row! We are bracing ourselves this year as he officially becomes a teenager!!

I don't know anyone with a birthday on the 24th or the 25th! But this yr we will be celebrating a friend of my families' grandchild 1st birthday she was born last yr on the 26th! we all thought she was going to come sometime from the 24th -25th as her mother started having minor contractions on christmas eve and was in labor all day christmas! but held out til the day after!!

this yr Emma's gifts from us will have one wrapped in birthday paper and the other in christmas. But both gifts are christmas themed as the are the Mickey and Minnie carolers from the DS that play music and dance!!

I am a 24th December baby.....and it goes both ways.....my parents were good and ALWAYS wrapped my presents in Bday paper....other people weren't so good....it really does make a difference......

All and all it is a great day to have a bday...can't wait only 3 moredays......:D

My cousin's birthday is the 25th and he has always made out like a bandit as far as gifts go. People always assume he's going to get the short end of the stick, so they go out of their way to give him extra gifts.

My birthday is 4days after Christmas and I'm always forgotten. people are broke/exhausted after Christmas and are focusing on their New Years plans.

Mine is the 27th. It was not the greatest growing up (have a twin brother so I didn't even have my own birthday!) When I worked (like staying home with three kids isn't work!), no one was around for my birthday, which was kind of sad. But by the time you get as old as I am, you are just happy to have another birthday, celebrated or not.

My brother's birthday is the 26th. I don't think he minds it much anymore, but he didn't like it much as a kid. Now, we always have our family Christmas get-together on that day, so we are always together. We also always get a birthday cake and have gifts wrapped in birthday paper. In some ways, we make a bigger deal of his birthday than anyone elses!

Our family has more than it's share of December birthdays. My grandmother's birthday was the 23rd, a niece is the 13th, a nephew the 15th and my brother the 26th.

Snoopy, that reminds me of my grandmother who was born on July 4th and when she was little thought all the fireworks were for her.

My grandfather Chris' bday was the 25th. None of us grandkids met him (he died in the early 60's). I heard he loved his bday being on Christmas.

Mine is December 26th.;)

I have a cousin whose b-day is the 24th ..... my great-grandmother (who was alive until I was 15) had her birthday on Christmas ..... my b-day is 12 days after Christmas, and while I never felt shortchanged on gifts I just feel shortchanged because everything is so condensed... Christmas, New Year's , B-day and that's it for another year ...... but as other's have said I'm used to it by now :D

I am in the same boat as you, people are usually so overwhelmed with the holidays that it isn't until they turn the calendar that they realize my birthday is on the third. I always wished I could celebrate my half birthday instead because with a birthday so close to Christmas you usually get everything you want then and then there usually isn't anything I want for my birthday.

spb999, I agree, it does seem like everything is condenced!

Really? I've often wondered about doing that for my kids. DD is 12/8 and DS is 12/31 but, June is summer and school's out. :( And, I also wondered what my family would think.

We have A LOT of December BD's between DH's family and mine and, no one does a 1/2 BD. (As a matter of fact, DD shares a BD with her Aunt and, DS shares a BD with an uncle!)

My oldest DD Lisa was born on Christmas Day. We usually celebrate it Christmas night around 6:30 which happens to be the time she was born.

My grandmother's birthday is today, the 23rd. Bless her heart, she's 92 years old. :teeth: We've always celebrated her birthday separate from Christmas. Possibly because a few of us have birthdays around holidays. Mine is 2/15, dad's was 7/5, and mom's was 7/9.

My sister will be 12 on Christmas Eve. She has loved having her BD on that day since it is the one day of the whole year that we're all guaranteed to be together as a family. I'm the oldest and there's 24 years between us. It's nice to know that she likes having all of us "old fogies" around to help her celebrate.

We DO wrap her BD gifts in BD paper and she makes out like a bandit. She says it's the joy of having adult siblings. There are 15 years between her and my second youngest sister.
