Anyone watching Wife Swap?

Bambis husband looked different when they interviewed him after it was all over. Haircut? Weightloss?

Caprice was nuts and I think her liking the kitty was as fake as her breasts. ;)

Hi Jenn Lynn

I reread and saw where you posted Caprice--and the others name was Bambi? That's weird.:earseek:

I actually related pretty strongly to Caprice. Obviously she was over the top with definate OCD, but she did learn from her experience and maybe has been able to overcome that. We have a fairly orderly house with rules and routines and I don't think it keeps us from having fun - it's just not a free for all. We have music, shouting, indoor football, etc. at times, but I wouldn't have been able to stand the frenzy and disorder at Bambi's house. The parents continually saying they are there to be friends with their kids made me want to cringe, because like Caprice I think kids do well with a certain amount of routine. I had to laugh at the sweeping the street - we do that! Our gravel parking area loses gravel to the street and we probably go out at least once a month a sweep the gravel back to where it belongs.

I thought Caprice handled being in filth much better than Bambi who was crying about being in sterile. I was also really bothered that Bambi was so accusatory about Caprice temporarily removing the animals - "you don't do that to kids". I thought her decision to bring a cat in would have been much more harmful to the kids if the cat had not been allowed to stay. (I'm allergic to cats so it wouldn't have stayed at my house!)

Obviously the best thing would be to be between the two (which I think most of us probably are) and live in organized chaos.

The one house was gross but that other woman was a nut! No noise in the house?? Husband was SO whipped!! I felt sorry for her kids, no noise no talking, always clean and the lists oh man!!!...blech!! Give me a messy (not feces filled though!) house anyday....she needs to get into some serious therapy!!

I agree completely.

And actually, I have to agree with Bambi about removing the animals. Anyone try to take my animals away and I will break their legs. They are my family and I take very good care of my pets (and they don't poop in the house except for litter boxes).

At one point, there was six animals living in the house but with the departure of my sister, its three. I understand that 25 is alot of animals and its far too many to take care of effectively but removing them completely (even if they were just "on vacation") was just a horrible thing to do.

Did I miss if there was any mention of payment for this? They'd have to pay me a lot to stay in the "animal" house even for just two weeks. That was gross.

One thing I noticed that seemed to be a small eye opener for Bambi's husband was when the older son said to him "You didn't consult me about this decision!" I think the husband had a small revelation about the complete lack of control he has over the household.
Also, does Bambi bring ANYTHING to the household? I don't know if I missed anything but, apparently, all she does is play with her kids? The husband does the cooking, works two jobs, and does the limited amount of cleaning that does happen in the house.

I sure hope Bambi changes her way about letting all those animals go to the bathroom in her house. It's a wonder if Childrens' Services doesn't get involved with their family because of the animal crap around that 2 year old. Gross.

I think both wives were weird, but I'd much rather live in Caprice's house than to live in Bambi's house.

I felt bad for Bambi's husband. Not only does he work, but he cooks and whatever else while Bambi is just there. I hope that changes. Bambi's husband did look physically different though at the end. I hope Bambi decides to at least keep her house a little more clean. I couldn't imagine my house looking like that. Gross.

I saw Caprice and her husband on a talk show last week. She said that she really likes this cat, and it's staying. I hope so for those boys.

Although both moms had issues I'd much rather have lived in Caprice's home than to live in Bambi's home.

Did anyone else notice the Mickey head wreath on the front porch of Bambi's home??? It was strung up on the right side of the porch. I noticed every time they showed the front of the house. I wonder if she is a DISer?

Both families were wacky, but I do agree that Caprice's family looks like it will come out ahead from this whole experience. I think if Caprice had been more tactful in telling Bambi that she needs to clean her house more often that possibly Bambi would not have freaked out like that. Ugh, that house was so gross!

I didn't plan on watching this, but once it started, I couldn't turn it off.

When I saw the 2 year old trying to pick up animal poop, I was so grossed out. You can have all the pets that you want, but to let them poop everywhere is wrong, and you know that those floors must be soaked with urine. PU!

I actually felt sorrier for Bambi's DH. That poor guy takes care of everything in that house. From what I saw, his wife takes responsibility for absolutely nothing. Caprice's DH is the one who appeared to be "whipped", but in the final analysis, I'd say that it was Bambi's DH who was the one with the higher maintenance wife.

Haha I was just going to write this! I noticed that as well...also when Caprice was in Bambi's house they always showed Mickey wallpaper? behind her too. Wonder if Bambi is on the boards here. :D

I got sucked into this show, too! I agree with just about everyone. I thought Caprice tried to be nice to Bambi at the end, but how do you say to a woman "You let your animals poop all over your house and that is disgusting" without offending them? I was also shocked that Bambi took one look at the new table and hated it. How is that for grateful? I felt bad for those children. They seemed to like the family meal time together.

Caprice took it all in stride while Bambi took offense at everything. I think Caprice will try to change a little but I don't see Bambi thinking anything was wrong with her lifestyle. I could just feel Caprice biting her tongue at the end face to face with Bambi. I would have really let her have it for the filth her kids are living in!

Oh, and I am all for pets, but not 23! I was shocked at first the Caprice could remove them until I heard it was temporary! Whew! I thought they were going for the pound at first! :earseek:

I wasen't impressed with the previews. I did watch the first episode last night and was surprised at how much I liked it. The show will be on Wednesday along with the show Lost. So my wednesday night is looking good.

I think even if the table was perfect Bambi would have complained, at that point I don't think she wanted anything to do with Caprice's changes. More than likely she loved the table but just wanted to "hurt" Caprice like she'd been hurt.

I agree totally with all those who noted that Caprice seemed to take the changes in stride, and seemed more flexible to what she learned, than Bambi. Caprice, for all of her OCD, came off looking like the classier person.

I wouldn't have lasted five minutes in Bambi's house. What gave her the idea that clutter and filth and animal excrement are necessary components to creating a loving environment? The crap all around the exterior - if I were the neighbors, I'd be majorly ticked. There's no excuse for twenty-five animals and the house looking like a total disaster area. Truly, there's not.

Wondering if Bambi is a DIS member.

Her husband also had a very worn All Star Music shirt on. I didn't see a computer though when they were scanning the house.

Maybe after Bambi saw the show she decided to change a little. She did have take out pizza on the table for everyone, that would be a start.

I'm thinking that Bambi is on the DIS a lot and that is why she never has time to clean! ;)

I don't think I need to see this show again. But I love the other one, Trading Spouses. Go figure. :)

I'm the opposite on this. I like Wife Swap and really can't get into Trading Spouses. I think it's the editing that I don't like. I'll be watching Wife Swap more now.

As far as the 2 women, I could never live in either of those houses. They're just too extreme for me. I just couldn't picture myself cleaning for more than 5 hours every day!

Here's my other thought: How on earth do you clean a clean house 5 hours a day?!! She needs a hobby! Somebody introduce that woman to scrapbooking or gardening! :p I hope the cat isn't afraid of the vacuum!
