I am watching flights for feb (not to WDW, but from IL to OH). When I first started watching, the flight I wanted was 225.00. NOw, it is 262.00!!! It has went up 20 bucks in the past 3 days!!! I don't know whether to book it or wait and see....

With fuel costs the way they are, I could see further increases. I would book and if fare goes down, most airlines (I know American will not), give a voucher for a future flight. I fly Midwest Airlines most often, just got a lower fare for one I booked months ago. Went from $240 to $200, they sent me a $40 voucher.

I should have booked it awhile back, but wanted to wait until I could find out about connections..... sigh. Always a day late and dollar short it seems LOL
THanks.

Airlines charge a change fee if you want to change your restricted-fare itinerary. These change fees are in addition to any difference between the cost of the original ticket and the cost of the new fare. Change fees can be as low as zero or as high as $100, as shown in the following table:

Airline Change Fee
AirTran $50
Alaska $50
America West $100
American Airlines $100
ATA $50
Continental $100
Delta $100
Frontier Airlines $100
Horizon Air $50
JetBlue Airways $25
Midwest Airlines $100
Northwest $100
Song $25
Southwest $0
Spirit $75
United $100
US Airways $100

we are for wdw in november cheapest i can find is $470 for 2, im also watching for a airfare, hotel package for september to las vegas for a friends wedding looking at about $1500. its seems like the days of $55 one way fares are over. im sure gas & the holidays coming are influencing this.

Perhaps all that bankruptcy has something to do with it. :rotfl:

Most of the airlines did a price increase this week for fuel costs. Since they all went along I would expect it to hang around. (Sometimes if one starts the increase and the others don't follow it disappears) However, that does not mean you want get a sale that is lower then the current airfare.

Keep in mind those charges listed in #5 generally apply to changes in your trip, not requests for vouchers because of lower fares, but keeping same ticketing. I do know I have received vouchers, no cost, in past few months from both United and Midwest (Midwest last week).

I do know also that American is one that does charge, $100, for the voucher, as they consider it a fare change. I had booked them for an Orlando trip some months back, then they lowered the fare. I called for a voucher, they said, $100 (for about a $30 reduction), so obviously I said no. Then, a few weeks after that, they changed the times significantly, I called and cancelled, full refund, rebooked Midwest, and then a subsequent voucher there after they lowered. It pays to periodically check fares, even after booking, with most airlines.

Not with fuel prices being so high!

Me and my daughter are going to WDW in less than 3 weeks and went thru TA about a month ago and bought our airline and hotel at ASMo for 3 nights.. I paid $705 total for everything.. I went on american airlines website yesterday just for grins to check $$ for same flights we are on and the ticket is now over $545 each!! Im glad I bought when I did..

I just rebooked our September trip with a savings of almost $180 this morning. The same flights were $279.20 cheaper today - Spirit Airlines direct from O'Hare to Orlando. Even though I had to pay a $100 change fee ($25 per person), we still came out ahead.

We now have a voucher towards a future flight. :cheer2:
