DH and I really enjoy this show! We like "True Blood", also, but "Being Human" might just be our favorite!

Sure, we need a dictionary at times (not always understanding the British slang), subtitles would be a plus (can't always understand what they are saying when they talk fast), but those British accents are awesome, and the guy that plays Mitchell is so the type of man I can look at for hours. :cool1:

I am not sure why DH watches this show, I think he likes the humor and storyline. I like those, too, but oh that tortured vampire Mitchell. :lovestruc

Anyway, does anyone know if new episodes have been running yet in Britain? I did read that it had been picked up again for another season, but that was a few months ago. I hope the wait won't be too long for it to show here in the States!

Yes....:thumbsup2 Certainly an interesting twist.

Have they explained the daylight issue with them? I don't think they have yet. Maybe I missed it.

Yes, I was wondering about the daylight thing, too. I remember them saying that sunlight bothered the vampires, but yet the show has Mitchell walking outside in the sun? I thought maybe it was explained further, but I just didn't understand what was said at that moment. Or I might have been staring at Mitchell and not paying attention. But now I know I am not the only one that wondered that!

I love this show. DH and I do have to rewind a couple of times per show to understand what they are saying.

I see Graham Norton come on after my taping of BH. Looks funny. I have never watched. Looks like an Jay Leno type show.

just a suggestion that if you like Jay Leno, you will probably HATE Graham Norton..VERY VERY Different. Graham is VERY adult. cussing, lots of sexual topics discussed. Just a fair warning that they are in no way similar...I hate Jay Leno...but I LOVE Graham Norton.

In this world, sunlight hurts a vampire's eyes, but it doesn't cause them to burst into flames or anything. If you notice, when Mitchell is in the sun he is usually wearing sunglasses and a hat to protect his eyes.

I am more of a Steven Colbert fan and now recently watching Chelsea Lately. I just thru out Leno randomly.:lmao:

Just to let you know that there will be a second series, but they haven't started showing it over here yet, so you may have a long wait.

Did you see the pilot for the series? Mitchell and Annie were played by different actors, but the series has stayed pretty true to the plotline from the original.

We really enjoyed it and are were really pleased that there will be a new series.

No, they did not show it however they mentioned it on a special they did for the series when it started.

We missed the beginning of the season, since I am not a fan of scary, we usually don't watch vampire stuff.... But we watch a lot of BBC America, and the weekly previews do make it look interesting... Maybe we will pick it up on DVD or if they have a marathon towards the end of the series.

DH and I LOVE Graham Norton. We are NOT fans of chat shows at all.
But he is so funny. There is occasionally stuff that is a little bit TOO much, but overall, we just laugh and laugh. Sometimes the guests on his show are hard to understand.... And don't worry if you have no clue who they are, those tend to be the funnier episodes.

You didn't really miss anything, as it was pretty much all written into the series.

The original Annie seemed a bit less whiny to me, YMMV, but the original Mitchell wasn't quite the eye candy that people seem to think this one is.:lmao: Not that that makes any difference to the ratings or anything.;) Personally I prefer the George character, he seems more "real", if there is such a thing in a fantasy type series.:confused3

As I understand it they were only recast because the original actors were unavailable for filming when the series got picked up.

In the "behind the scenes" thing they aired on TV, they said that the original Mitchell was too much like "Blade" and then went in a whole other discussion of why they changed Mitchell.

As far as your comment on George, I don't know. I find most of the characters with a "real" component. I think that is why it is so different.

It is like "Three's Company" meets "Supernatural" blend.

You got more information than we did then, we got told that it was due to the actors being busy on other projects!:goodvibes

Maybe one day we'll get the special you got.;)

I know what you mean, it is really refreshing that they seem so human, despite not being.
