We're starting our second summer in Florida and are enjoying the garden, even though it's a lot of work! As well as the veggies are growing, the weeds thrive too.
Right now we're working with zucchini, watermelon and cantaloupe. We have mini zucchini and watermelon already and the cantaloupe are just starting to flower.
Although the soil (by Massachusetts standards) is anemic looking, it really kicks the plants into overdrive. Here are some photos I took this morning.
One of the several zucchini plants in bloom. I
zucchini!!
The bees were busy doing their thing.
Cantaloupe plant just starting to stretch out.
The watermelon patch.
One of several grape sized watermelon that have shown up in the past several days. These are not the hernia inducing type but the ones that are fairly round in shape and easier to move.
One of the many dragonflies we have hanging around the house.
