I am new here looking for some designs for shirts for my family for our upcoming trip. Well I know a few of what I want but in looking I see that alot of people use photo shop for their designs. My husband bought me photo shop elements 7 recently and I am just begining to learn how to use it. I am pretty creative but don't know how to even get started. I didn't know if some one would be willing to walk me through a few steps on photo shop and maybe I could design my own shirts. Or would I just be better off asking some one to do what I want?? Welcome to the DIS DISign thread Brandy.

I only use paint.net but I know many people here use photo shop.
Welcome and hopefully someone will be able to help.
P.S. I think making your own will bring alot of satisfaction but if you are making more than one DISign maybe do a bit of both design and request.

PSE actually has some great tutorials on Utube. Do a search & I am sure you will find something. I use photo impact so I can't help you.

Check out www.elementsvillage.com. It's a great forum with lots of friendly people that are more than willing to help. There's a section with tutorials by forum members, I've created a couple myself, and they have a sister site photoshopelementsuser.com which is a subscription based service that has many great tutorials also. When you become familiar with PSE you can also start to check out older Photoshop tutorials as many of them are doable in PSE. You'll need to be very familiar with the layout of the menus as Photoshop has the commands in different spots and sometimes calls them different things. Example: PSE: Simplifiy, PS: Rasterize. Good luck and don't be afraid to post here. Many of us use PSE or PS and can help if you're stuck on something.

PSE7 is my favorite! I used Elementsvillage.com a bunch when I first got it. And I also found many MANY free tutorials through Google. (I had dial-up 'til last week so YouTube was out of the question )

I have Photoshop Elements 9 and I have just started doing some disigns for myself and some others here on the boards. YouTube has been a HUGE help in figuring out how to do something, especially name fills. But it has taken time to learn the tricks and I still don't know it all. The nice part about doing it yourself is you don't have to feel bad about asking someone to do sooo many different things for you. Good Luck

My dream is to make a rounded Mickey Head with the resorts inside. Like this one.

I did the DISign, but I didn't do the Mickey Head, it was done by someone (I think triplefigs) when this forum first opened. Now I was able to somewhat recreate it (not as good) with Photo Impact. My understanding is the PE will warp the MH and the ears. So that's my goal. One day I will recreate this. Penny
