I am REALLY not looking forward to this but this little cotton-tailed furbaby needs a bath. :earseek: He wasn't smell too great this morning.

Any volunteers????? Believe me, it's an experience you will never forget! ;)

I don't know much about bunnies, but can you maybe just dust him with some cornstarch and give him a couple clean towels to play in for a bit instead of actually bathing him?

Anne

Spray him with Febreeze. much easier :rotfl:

Just kidding. Have fun, it sounds like it will be about as much fun as bathing a cat. :)

I've never had to bathe either of my 3 bunnies luckily. Cheeky and Figaro are another matter. I give in now and get in the bath with them as I know I am going to get soaked anyway! It takes 2 of us. One to hold him down the other to shower!!

Oh, that was an experience. Do have any idea how much water those big feet can kick out?!! :earseek: I don't know what he got into, but he was stinky AND sticky. :confused3 After his bath, I blew him dry for a bit then wrapped him up in a dryer-warmed towel and held him for an hour. After a quick snack of cheerios, he was good to go!

Hey, maybe I could open a bunny spa in my old age!!

are you talking about an actual bunny?
Yes an actual bunny. Some people have bunnies as pets, some people have chickens. Not everyone has just the normal cat or dog.

I've bathed one of our bunnies a couple of times. She seems to have, hmm, a potty problem and doesn't always make those nice, hard bunny balls so sometimes things sorta stick to her fur. She hated every single bath. After 3.5 years of this problem I finally figured out that it is the result of her food. She never had the problem in the first 1.5 years that we had her, then we got a 2nd bunny and since he was a baby we fed him baby rabbit food, Jr. Bunny. Well she'd smell it and refuse to eat her own and only wanted his food so we switched her and they both eat that. Well neither is still a baby bunny, but it's their favorite food so we stick with it. Recently we ran out and so did the store so we bought something different and Baxter had all 'regular' bunny balls-nothing stuck to the fur. I didn't notice till we went back to the Jr. Bunny and back to the stuck fur. So now we have to mix the Jr. Bunny with other food to cut down on her problem.

Holy crap, I have had ferrets, lizards and monkeys. Never had a chicken...but I'm open minded ;) Why would anyone think it strange to give a bunny a bath? :confused3

I had a chicken once too. :flower: When I was young, my parents bought me one of those incubators from the Sears catalog. I hatched a chicken egg we got from a local farm. I named him Chirpy. He was the sweetest thing and I was crushed when my dad took him back to the farm when he got older (we are not 'zoned' for farm animals  ). I was so mad at him that when he left with Chirpy, I told him I hoped he had an accident. Well, as he was backing out of the farm, in his brand new T-bird, he backed right into a tree!! :teeth: That will teach him to make me mad!

I never thought twice about explaining on the boards who Thumper is. He's been around for so long, thanks to so many wonderful people here with super suggestions. In case you don't know Thumper "tail", he was an orphaned baby cottontail who with a touch of Disney magic. :cloud9: Don't know if you can still find the threads from his early days anymore. It was back in May of 2003...yep, already almost 3 yrs!! :cool1:
