Anyone walking for the 50th anniversary?

Hi all,

I’ve been regularly watching bookings for my two home resorts (Bay Lake Tower and Animal Kingdom at Jambo) as I wasn’t sure when we’d be able to travel next year.

I need a two bed at both resorts for a split stay, but I notice that for the last couple of days I wouldn’t of been able to get a booking for any room view at either resort.

ive now firmed up our dates of travel for the last week in October/first week in November - do you think I will be ok for those periods at 11 months? I’m assuming these are people walking for the actual anniversary? Or should I be jumping on a room as soon as I see it to walk to the end of October? (We don’t usually travel at this time of year, so I don’t know what to expect - sadly we’ve had to cancel our Christmas trip due to Covid and international travel) 😢

Many thanks for any thoughts

Absolutely. Walking BACKWARDS. WDW fired everyone. DVC owners - we are canceling all 2021 vacations, and banking. We will GO when there is something worth going to. No longer COVID - there are no real parks.

"All personal opinion - I'm not necessarily right, no one else is necessarily wrong."

Just a reminder that if you’re planning to be at the parks, try to snag your Park Pass ASAP. Would be unfortunate to walk your reservation and then not able to get into MK.
Thank you for this reminder as I think that people underestimate how popular that particular park reservation is going to be!

I wanted to mention as well that MS can currently renew annual passes for DVC members regardless of their expiry dates to ensure that members can make park reservations far enough in advance to secure them. We renewed ours over the phone with expiry dates of May and June 2021 just yesterday.

did not realize we could renew APs during this pause. I purchased day tickets that I figured I would transfer to APs.

As long as you have a reservation past your AP expiration date, then Member Services will allow you to renew your AP early. I appreciate the head's up for this as I was worried about not getting a park pass for MK on 10/1. Thank you!

So you have to buy tickets now and reserve your park days for December of 2021? That is going to be rough for us. We are fine doing it but we were planning on letting family stay with us and they aren’t sure they can go yet! If we reserve then they might not get in if they wait? Crazy!

We don't have tickets yet, either, but I am not worrying about park reservations. They may not even be required. A lot can change before next fall.

I really hope in October next year things will be back to some normalcy, another year of this madness would be very hard. Also, I'm planning to go to WDW for the first time during the Holidays in December 2021 (before they increase the point charts too much :P) and I hope shows and entertainment will be back by then.
