Just wondering what your favorite places are outside the Disney resorts? We're going to use our points outside the Disney resorts this year, but would like to stay in this country. There is so much to choose from...I'd like some help. :confused3 We'll be traveling mid April...just my husband and I...DD is a freshmen at college.:)

We've done the Mandarian Oriental in Washington D.C. and the Shelbourne Murray Hill (I think that was the name) in NYC and also London UK.

Loved, loved, loved each and every hotel. Mandarian Oriental in Washington is stunning and way out of the price I would pay in cash for a hotel room.

We exchanged for a week in Sedona, AZ. It was absolutely beautiful out there and the trip was one of the best we've ever taken. We stayed at Los Abrigados Resort & Spa and loved it. We came in two days early and spent them at the Grand Canyon at one of the hotels right along the rim. If you've never been out that way I highly recommend it!

We are trying for a place in Maine - we having been in several years and want to go back. I put in a request a couple weeks ago and haven't heard anything yet. I gave them 3 properties and basicially the whole summer for next year. How long does it usually take to get the reservation?

We have been to CA, NY, Washington DC, and Williamsburg. We love the option to trade but try and get Marriott or a very good trade. Some are sure not worth the points. Marriotts have been our best trades so far. They are very nice and worth the points. We have another Marriott trade coming up but are not sure when or where. We traded directly with a Marriott owner. We also rented out VB points and are using that money to rent a home in MB this next year. There are many ways to use your points that work great.

We used them at Desert Ridge Villas on the Phoenix/Scotsdale line.Amazing resort,we actually liked it better than DVC,HUGE suites, much bigger than Disney.

We did the Grand Canyon and lots of other things. It was nice just viewing the scenery and not bustling through parks.

We've used our points at the Murray Hill in NYC (nice) and Keystone Resort in Keystone, CO (nice reseort but really disappointing unit). I learned that the Keystone units are condos that are rented out, so we just were unfortunate to have one not as well maintained as the norm. The resort itself and the surrounding area are first rate.

Williamsburg (Marriot's Ford Colony) is a nice use of points, as is Kona Coast on the Big Island of Hawaii--it's not directly on the beach but is relatively easy to exchange. We've also used about-to-expire points at the Loew's Regency in Manhattan, which was very posh and discreet in a fabulous part of town but which burned points extravagantly.

We've gone to the Tanque Verde Ranch in Tucson, but it is no longer a part of the Concierge collection. :sad2:

We've also been to the Grove Park Inn. Very nice. We'll go back some day, but too many other places we haven't been to yet to go back any time soon.

I already have my list, just need the vacation time to get there!:

Royal Sands, Cancun
Marriotts Ford Colony, Williamsburg
Aruba (don't care where!)
Loew's Regency
Four Season's Aviara
