Anyone used the mobile menus?

I saw on the dining section of allears that someone is offering menus that can be used on a handheld (Pocket PC or Palm) and that they even support Ipods. The seller of the information is Eguidestogo.com and they charge $8.00 for it.

Has anyone here actually purchased and used it? Was it worth the $8.00, or turned out to be a novelty?

I am considering buying it to put on my Ipod touch. Sure would be nice to have a menu to consider before walking half way across a park to eat somewhere to find out we don't like it. We are leaving 2 weeks from tomorrow and are getting excited.

Just looking for experiences before I buy.

Thanks!!

Craig

1) Seems like a waste of money.
2) Most eateries in parks are counter service.
3) Not much to know.
4) As for Epcot, you can check menus well in advance.

I thought it was well worth the price to have the menus in a portable electronic format. EGuidestogo.com also provides information on attractions and entertainment schedules. It was cool to simply open my PDA and look to see when the next show or character appearance was scheduled, instead of keeping up the paper guides they give you at the park entrance.:cool2:

If Verizon is smart, they'll add this feature to the proposed list of interactive park services.

I didn't use the eguides menus - but I did bring up the menus on allears a couple times in the parks on my internet enabled cell phone. It was nice to be reminded about which counter service meals were available in which parks. It actually helped me to remember a couple of items I wanted to try (after seeing pics in reviews) and always forget about when I'm in the parks

For those of you who's phones support internet browsing, you can access the restaurant menus for free here on the DIS.

That's true - I could have used the dis menus too, but I chose to use allears because they show a list of restaurants without using a search feature. When using an internet phone the fewer steps necessary the better
