We are staying DVC in May but would like to stay somewhere else the first night because it is a Saturday and we will be getting in late. I have read that some resorts in or around Disney come up occassionally on priceline. Does anyone have any specific advice for using priceline and getting something nice that is close to Disney such as which area to request, how many stars, how much to bid, etc.

i stayed at the wdw hilton a couple of years ago for $72 a night, tax incl. (across the street from DTD and included access to EMH.)

your best bet is www.betterbidding.com to see what the participating hotels and going rates are now. (and that's what i looked at back then.)

I just got Orlando Vista(used to be Doubletree)-right outside of DTD for 47 on May 4 & The Best Western in DTD for 45 May13th.

Go to www.biddingfortravel.com do not let the people there scare ya;) Print the Hotel list. I always first did choice Disney World Vicinity then I pick 3 star, if my bid is not excepted then I up it a couple bucks & add Resort. I had to pick 2.5 for the one night which is how I ended up with the Vista Orlando.

Make sure you look at the hotels that are on the list if you do not want to stay at any of them do not do priceline.
